It's going beyond the worst predictions. A few months back I said 8,000 would be the bottom, and a lot of my friends told me that was ridiculous. Sad that I am wrong in the wrong direction.
The next stop is deflation. The US economy is about to right-size itself, which is bad news. As a functioning economy, this country just plain flat doesn't work. The whole thing has been built on debt, and there is little going on that generates sustainable wealth. We could be looking at staggering unemployment, as millions find out that their jobs were financed by pipedream money. The cycle has been sickening. "Free" trade lets us take all our borrowed money and use it to buy cheap stuff, which has been destroying our manufacturing base. Countries need to protect certain parts of their economy, unbridled free trade is as bad as over-protectionism. Clinton had the right balance between the two, Bush, on the other hand, is a Free Market Radical, a f'ng nut who should have never have been made president. His cowboy-pawnshop-capitalism was great for his rich friends, but for the rest of us, it always meant eventual ruin. Unless a nation can take raw materials, convert it into greater-value finished goods which it can sell to the markets at a profit, it is not creating actual wealth - instead it is enjoying wealth created by borrowing or by bringing their manufacturing base and the wealth created by prior generations to the pawn shop. I have been saying for three years that it cannot last forever. That time has arrived. We need to make massive cuts in our government military spending, and put the money into revitalizing our economy. We need to make Social Security and Medicare means-tested. We need to end NASA, a huge waste of money, and put it into real industries. We need to make a giant leap in robotics, which is the only way we can defeat the advantage of Chinese labor. We need to make all higher education free of charge for those who can do the work. We need a single national health insurance company. We need massive, massive change. |

Everybody I know is at their wits end, another Boston Tea party is long past due.
Revolution maybe the only alternative left to squash the woes ahead. This is the worst time in US history- short of the depression... __________________ '57 Buick Roadmaster 75 |

Sure is. Just look at our phantom monetary system.
The amazing thing is we are actually debating if we should bail out Detriot. Manufacturing is vitally important to any economy and the US is no different. We cannot be a nation of bankers. For a case-study in why not Google Iceland at this very moment. Again, we're debating not how but if the domestic automobile industry should be saved. Here we have $700 billion out the window to the bankers who caused this mess and $2 TRILLION out the back door to nowhere in an undisclosed move by the Fed chairman Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Paulson and we are debating if we should lend a hand to one of the only value-added industries remaining in this country? Effing amazing. Granted, Detroit was losing market share but they were still viable. But this financial tsunami froze credit markets and ruined consumer confidence and spending which might prove to be the nail in the coffin for Detroit. I view Detroit as what they call civilian casualties in the military: Collateral Damage. The financial mess accelerated Detroit's demise and we are debating extending a lifeline. Simply amazing. All you can do is write your congressman and both senators. What's rather ironic is that if the federal government would have sent that $700 billion and $2 trillion to each and every American in the form of a check it would have found it's way back in to the banking system anyway in the form of deposits from which the bankers could continue their ponzi scheme called fractional lending and, boom, instant recovery. People would have bought cars and confidence would have been restored. But because John Q Public does not have a lobbying cohort in Washington DC we just get stuck paying the tab. That "bloody revolution every now and again" Thomas Jefferson advocated is closer to happening every day this shi'ite continues. __________________ "Commerce with all nations, alliances with none, that should be our motto." "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." I have been ready, the problem is you can get an entire gay
population to unite and protest but not the rest of the country. Look back at the 60's the Government and local law enforcement had the green light to shoot you down and or kill you. Stop the war, sex and drugs and Rock & Roll. Everybody is afraid let someone else protest if you fight for smaller Government and try to protect your rights many will be slaughtered. That is the irony, risk being killed or arrested for standing up against an all too powerful government. They decide who lives and dies through out the entire world. The people of this country should have stood up a long time ago and have the Gov held accountable. Again the US is the war business, everywhere and any time the US Government will be glad to kill people for you, that is the evil. Money, Politics' and death follow. They don't understand that we should take care of our own people and mind our own business. I still say Bush is the worst President the US has ever seen. He let Wall St. destroy the economy and jobs. The love of money is the root of all evil, an oil man for President and he has made sure the next President is bankrupt before he takes office. He destroyed our country. Billions and trillions of dollars wasted. Ron Paul and some other people with common sense will never get in office. Too much money is wasted on Government, CIA, IRS, the Pentagon, the control of oil and natural resources the the earth provided for man is manipulated and controlled. NO EXCUSES. I guess I would rather fight and die than watch this country go down the drain over greed and fuc-ing stupidity. The people should have demanded Bush resign after Katrina. He only cares about the top one percent of the billionaires. Also we need to be able to vote on things that impact our whole country, the war, Wall Street bail outs, our jobs and manufacturing moving overseas. Nafta and cheap wages, all I can say is Bush succeeded in the destruction of the middle class, rich or poor no one left in between. I hope Obama prosecutes Bush and the entire crooked administration. War mongers and profiteers, oil rich and thirsty blood suckers. I's love to shake Bushs' hand and tell him Thank You, you destroyed the United States, how do you wash blood off your hands? do you have enough oil? You and Sadam Hussein will have a nice Tea party in hell, show us your horns-Devil... How did your daddy buy the election twice? How many of our soldiers have to die? spreading democracy in Iraq? do you and Cheney know Bin Ladens dead? that's why the Army cant find that ass hole? where is all the Gold that was stolen out of the Basement of the twin towers before they fell down? How come you dont ride thru Texas with the top down on that fuc-ing gas guzzling limousine you ride in? Why is a big armour plated Surburban fine for politicians as they bash and help destroy the US auto industry? smaller cars for everybody but them... Why in the hell don't the people of our country have no say in the use of our own natural resources? How come you didn't shut down the NYMEX and the CBOE last summer when they raped the entire country? Better yet why didn't the people go in and destroy that greed factory? lets dismantle OPEC while were at it. $$$ Why in the hell is the US dollar priced in fuc-ing oil? You are smarter than the US citizens think, after all how much money and oil will it take for you to be King? Are you the first President to bankrupt a nation? If your not pissed off you should be. |

I think I'll sell some SKF (glad I held it) and buy more ammo.
*I can't help thinking some sort of tax revolt will happen if they keep giving away our money. __________________ |
