Default Does anyone here use Ameritrade to trade?

Does anyone here use Ameritrade to trade? If so, how happy are you? Im thinking of switching to them.

I've used them for several years now and I am very satisfied. The only other company I've had experience with is Scottrade [and I didn't like their website]. All the features are good, and if you qualify for Apex [X number of trades a month] you get a bunch of free stuff. The advanced analyzer is a good tool in my view. The only downside [which I haven't figured out yet] is that when you buy the charge is always 9.99 but when you sell I've always been charged somewhere between 9.99 - 10.06 [always being something different]. Which is a minor complaint, just pennies that I usually get back in interest for my cash.

Do you get charged the extra pennies all the time or just some of the time?

This is SEC imposed sales fee irrespective of brokerage you use. Read this for detail:

I have been using Ameritrade for almost a year now. They are great. One complain I have about them is, you can't short stocks which are less than $5. That's something I am willing to live with.

I use Ameritrade, for about the last six months, I'm not that active on it, but all of my trades have gone lightning fast, and I have no complaints.

Ive had at least 3 issues with them in the last 2 months. But the made up by giving me free trades. There tools are great if your APEX.

both my dad and I use Ameritrade and it's great. They should become a full financial service once their integration with TD Waterhouse becomes complete. My dad has been with TD Waterhouse for quite a few years and their financial services are great.

I use 2 brokers and 1 is AMTD and i like their software and research tools. Market hudle is a great 1/2 hour call on the market and a few stocks. Im am listening to mondays report right now as it startes at 9am. They say market is netural to bearish s/t.

Also if you are an Apex client they have special seminars / classes. There is one here in ATL on the 14th which I am going to attend. Someone from IBD is talking and there are 6 sessions [you pick 1 of 4 classes in each], that range from TA, Options, Advanced Options, Investing for a Goal, Using their software, Trader's Desktop ect. ect

I'm an Ameritrade Apex trader also. Switched to them about 8 months ago and am very happy so far. Their website looks great and they provide a terrific amount of information, real time quotes, etc. If you want to talk to a human there's rarely a wait on hold and the customer service people are unusually well trained and courteous.
