I received this letter from a friend. A good read for those of us that are fed up with U.S. military bashing. For those of us that are fed up with so called government conspirices and blaming the U.S government for everything that is wrong in the world. Thank GOD that conservatives are the silent majority and keep the Godless, liberal-socialist-pro-terrorist minority in check. Down with the New York Slime(NYT) and two thumbs up for Fox News
The Daughter of a Soldier Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest act's of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camo's, as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families. Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "hi," the little girl then she asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, he didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek. The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it. After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying "your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon." The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event unfolded. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, their were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek. We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American. Red Friday Just keeping you "in the loop" so you'll know what's going on in case this takes off. RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV-- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers. Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday. I'm with the majority in the US that don't support this war. I do support the poor peons (troops) used by our government to destroy other countries and lives. I understand that they're not intelligent enough to think for themselves. Fox News is made for those who enjoy being brainwashed to believe in a sugar-coated world. It's amazing how tied in the chuch is with supporting the destruction of other countries.

Those are pretty strong, intolerant words TCG. I am the leading proponent of freedom of speech but you seem to condemn those who don't agree with you or your politics as the Godless, liberal-socialist-pro-terrorist minority.
As a matter of fact, if you check the polls (which I'm certain you feel are manipulated by the liberal press) I think you will find that the majority of folks in this country disagree with the war but support the troops in that they don't want these kids killed or maimed for a fruitless cause. When this conflict started, I wrote a friend predicting that it would end as a civil war between religious factions. More people have been murdered in the name of religion than any other cause. This war is not a righteous war; it was begun on the basis of ill conceived prevarications which finally caught up to this administration. I would hope you reflect upon your words and possibly develop a more Christian perspective. |

Sometimes I tend to be too calous when it comes to our veterans. I had a friend who was in The Gulf War, and he said it was surprising how little people cared that he had spent time in the war protecting the US citizens. I told him that he was stupid to think that most people cared about him protecting tht US. I, personally, think that they're pawns used for the people of the government, and I don't consider them our protectors. However, I lost a friend for being candid about what I thought. I still have to bite my tongue not to try to explain what I think. Your story, Chart Guru, was great, and it almost put me to tears.
I really wish I felt the government was there for its people. I could care less if it's Democrats or Republicans that are the majority. I just wish they'd support the people in the US. I had an apartment in New Orleans when Katrina hit. The devastation there was never attempted to be rebuilt. This is just one example of many that has lead me to dislike our current government. |

P.S. The story was very moving and I don't believe there is anyone who is more sympathetic to a soldiers plight than I. I've been there in another "war" that was also fruitless. The cost ....more than 68,000 men killed and countless wounded and disabled for life.
The 38th parallel still divides a country where many of my companions forever lie. Wars are fought on the whims and failed diplomacy of fools ! |

Having god or not is just a worthless, personal claim imo. I don't have to have that crutch to face life. Why are you so prejudice against those who are not like you? Is it because they challenge your way of thinking? I'm sure the preachers tell you to block out thoughts that come from Satan and that I'd be one of his messengers...LOL. This is just one of the little mechanisms the church uses to keep its masses brainwashed. |

Amen TCG, how right you are !
The sad part is you don't stand a snowballs chance in Hell of getting through to the thick skulled imbiciles that dominate this forum. god luck to you though, you're about the only one around that has any decency or common sense about them. I think you could find a better forum elsewhere to spend your time in. I think Thierry is masqarading as a covert communist, with Nathan and OldBold as sidekicks. |

Very interesting how you guys are defending yourselves. What makes you guys think that I was referring to you? Huuuuuuuuuuumm.....I guess if the shoe fits, wear it. I never thought you guys were so radical and such extremists. Calling our brave soldiers "poor peons" and "not intellegent enough to think for themselves" is insulting to our entire military! Those same "poor dumb peons" have kept us free for over 200 years.
"More people have been murdered in the name of religion than any other cause". Yeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...hellooooooooooooooo? That's what this war is about. We are fighting radical extremist that want to wipe out Jews, Christians and Americans in general. They blow themselves up and kill innocent people including children. They shoot rockets into Israel to kill as many civilians as possible, yet your CNN and New York Slime only report on the Lebanese civilian casualties even though Israel is trying to target the cowardly terrorits that hide behind women and children and use them as shields. I am compassionate, however. I understand that, like alcoholism, Liberalism is a disease. Their priorities and rationale are all screwy. For example, a liberal rather save a tree, abort a baby. Save the racoon, don't drill for oil. Terrorists are misunderstood, our soldiers are peons. There is no God, we evolved from bacteria. Global warming, blame Bush LOL I hope you guys are better traders LOL The Guru has spoken |

Evolving from bacteria is a logical explanation. Being made on the 6th day by some supernatural being is utter nonsense. Some of us have evolved a higher level of thinking, and realize this is a fable made up several thousand years ago before most could read or write; i.e., a story for the illiterate. I was reading chapters from the Bible when I was 6. I came to understand it as a good tool for teaching morals to young children. There is no other use for it except for those who wish to control the gullible masses. P.S. I've learned to trade from TA, and I got that motivation from you. I appreciate it. |
