Default Interactive Brokers

For those of you that use this site I have a few questions:

Are there any monthly maintenance fee's or non active charges if you dont trade every month?

Also, when you mail funds for deposit into your account, how long does it take?

I use IB. SInce I am an active trader I have never been charged a monthly fee. I believe the fee is $9/month. It took about 10 days for my initial funds to be deposited in my account.

I believe that IB requires that they make $10 off of you a month. If you do that through trades (usually $1 a trade), then there is no extra fee. Otherwise, you pay the difference. You also have to do $30 in trades a month to get certain data for free.

Default Commission structure for Interactive Brokers:

Can someone please explain the commission structure for Interactive Brokers?

For example what would be their commission if I buy 2000 shares of a $5 stock vs if I buy 2000 shares of a $30 stock?
Thanks.

I just opened a Scottrade account. $7 trades, almost no additional charges, even to close the account. I went into a branch at 1:00PM with a check and by 8 the next morning, I could trade.

$25K gets you the better trading platform, Elite. There is too much info there for me right now, but will be great in the future.

Go to Grunt's elitetrader site and look up any brokerage.

I looked up on their website and read few different discussion forums on Interactive Brokers in past few days. I just wanted someone else to confirm their commission structure before I open an account.

Thanks for the helpful hints though.
Merry Christmas!
