Brazil vs US Drug Company Patent Rights

Hello All,
I am concerned about a recent article I read that Brazil is planning to ignore US drug company patent rights, specifically for HIV drugs. Apparently, they believe they have the "right" to ignore our patent laws and manufacture any drug they please. This would have a devastating effect on our drug research and discovery. What recourse do we have and how can US drug companies fight this? I own drug stocks. Should I bail now before this gets really messy and drags the US drug market down?
