Great for him winning the Car, but (here it comes) he admitted he used a strategy he would not use with real money. He seems like a sharp character but should he be held up as expert or lucky or somewhere in between?

I will never be an expert at the late stage of life in which I find myself, so I consider luck very important. And at what stage does luck become expertise. In the past there was an amateur that hung right in there and beat a couple of the experts. He has nerve to go after volatility, because I have grown to hate it over the past month. He also intends to do some shorting. I think it will be interesting to watch.

It's always better to be lucky than good. I am not familiar with the way Mr. Ko won.. why would he not use it with real money?

He put all his money into one trade, and did it again for huge gains. A bit risky for ones own money.

His first purchase sure is an eye opener. PFACP up 20% right out of the gate this morning.

If I remember correctly, the guy who won Jim Cramer's contest put all his eggs in one basket, and there was an article somewhere about how Jim wanted to disqualify him because of his irresponsible trading style- but they could not. I do recall that Cramer made very little of the win.
I bet next year we will see different guidelines.
