Default Ameritrade

I'm considering moving my brokerage account from Banc of America Securities to Ameritrade. Any feedback from those with Ameritrade accounts? How is customer service? Web interface? Funding? Etc.... Are you generally happy with them? Thanks for your input!

I have an account with them because they bought out Datek. Their service is pretty good. I do like their quote streamer. I did open another account with Scottrade though because the trading fees were lower. So my long term buys are in my Ameritrade account. My short term trades are in my Scottrade account.

I just started my account there, now under TD Ameritrade. And they have lowered comissions to 9.99 a trade, so that isn't too bad at all I think. Try to get some free trades or cash out of opening an account, as they usually have a lot of good offers.

i'm relatively happy with them so far... it did take a while for them to open up my account, though that may be an isolated event.

I'm looking for a new account, also. Been thinking of Scottrade as they seem to be the cheapest of the big names.

Does Scottrade have EFT yet? I would use them if I didn't have to mail in a check to fund my account. I do like their Scottrader but have heard bad things about their server uptime. I like AMTD's flat $9.95 trades, would be better if it included free level 2 quotes or some kind of active trader platform without having to rack up commish. I actually like the stock of AMTD down here more than I like their platform.

i use firstrade
It is loads better than scottrade and they have ETFs and do not charge an extra fee for mutual funds (scottrade charges $20). It is also the same price as scottrade(6.95 vs 7.00 @ ST)

I thought Ameritrades' Apex level had level 2 quotes and an active trader platform........

Doesn't seem too unreasonable, 5 trades a month or $100,000 qualifies you....ok the $100,000 does lol

Scottrade is much better, I hear that there is a lot of problems with funding your account and delays in buying stocks with ameritrade.
