Default Penny traders- what U.S. broker do you prefer?

Thinking about sampling the action, i've always been interested but kept at bay by pump & dumps and stall out stocks .... lately though on this and other boards seen many recommendations for various brokers, but being a beginner concerned about high fee's, buy minimums & orders not filled quick enough (or at all) i'm looking for anything but Scottrade.

I'd appreciate your personal stories about getting started. I'm able to work with 2-5k. *Thanks in advance*

I use Etrade and have very little issues with trading penny stocks.

Ditto on E*trade, no hassles and the pro platform runs flawlessly on my MAC.

Just watch about buying and selling penny stocks. Funds must settle before buying and selling stocks on a regular basis. Scottrade warns you of free riding if you buy and dump too often in one day. Read up on Fed T regulation.

I started with USAA brokerage. They gave me 2 months trading free. Afterwards it is 12 dollars a trade.
I then switched to zecco, by chance really, and work with 10 free trades free, and 4.50 trades afterwards. You do need 2.5k invested to qualify for this, and patience to get through the signup.
