Trading Laptop Advice

I am looking for advice on a trading laptop; what to look for, and where to get it.

I will strictly be using it for trading. I need it to be able to connect wirelessly, and crunch the huge amounts of info that come in from real-time charting, and applied formulas.

What is more important here? RAM, processor speed, both?

Large screen, high-end graphics card, DVD burner, etc are not necessary.

Are there places to buy fairly stripped down laptops? Is it possible and practical to build my own?

ram is most important

its going to also depend on your o/s... id say go with xp, it runs a lot smoother than vista. you dont have to go crazy on the processor and intel dual core is fine, even a celeron, i wouldnt say you have to go with a dual core 2 duo unless you can find it for a similar price

make sure you have at least 1 gb

toshiba probably has the best imo if youre looking for bang for your buck... check www.jandr.com i bought a few from there and like it a lot

dell is also pretty good... i get a discount with them through my company and would be willing to pass it on to you. we have a limit of 3 laptops or computers per yr and i havent used mine up yet.
