Default Fear and Greed

The down market as of late has been a nice buying window.

What are people loading up on?

For better or worse, I'm still playing the coming tech rally game. Grabbed more MSFT and YHOO. And both shot up after buying them on the low swing.

Just stuck my fist into techland for some MOT, hoping not to pull back a nub like I did with CSCO. I hate to be pessimistic and piont out Cramers boo boo's, but I hope not many followed his beckonning into the RUTH shearing stall. Maybe the problem has to do with the Katrina zone.

I got a casino stock, WYNN, but only picked up a partial load, because I wasn't sure how much farther down it was going to go. I am not fearful, just very hesitant right now and I'm letting analysts get in my head and spook me. I am so mad at myself for doing that!!

You didn't mention elation, Dog. That is an emotion not experienced too often when you get older, and one I haven't felt until now about winning big, and probably won't again, at least I haven't in my three years of investing. Cashed in my 500 CBI at 31.00, my wallet up just under $2,500 since Monday morning on that one. Somehow I feel sort of empty now, knowing this almost certainly will never happen again. Thanks for putting up with my ranting.

Home Depot is good, just a little concerned about all those stores that shut down due to the storm. The damage will be insured, I'm sure, but how long will it take to get them back up and running is my question.

Hey, XB, just keep telling yourself you can do it again on other stocks and you will!!

Thanks, I'll try that. Come on CRXL, I know you can. I still believe in Vivian Lewis because of her model portfolio in strategy lab, and think this is the most likely candidate. Really starting to redeem itself, unlike my nemesis, SHLD.

HomeDepotTom:

I'm a big fan of HD as well. I think it is an excellent long-term play (1 - 2 years). BUT, are you putting 100% of your 401K into HD stock?? Maybe I misunderstood your post, but isn't that a bit dangerous? If you're playing with discretionary money, go for it, but I'd be a bit more careful with a 401K. Too many people lost their retirement by putting all their eggs in one basket.
