Default What's with the RIO April 30 CALLS?

+RIODF

Open interest is 18K, traded over 218K, what is the take on this? put volume is fairly average so is this a bullish event?

Interested in your takes.

Thanks to all,

This is very awkward, I'm looking at 2,041 open interest on the RIODF option in my Etrade, can you double check the open interest? I don't see anything remotely that high in my options chains.

Thanks for your reply pedrom...

This volume actually occured during Thursday's trading. I don't know if there is a way to look back at volume on options from previous days.

Volume on friday was back to normal. so who knows maybe it was an anomoly with what Ameritrade was showing.

Thanks again,
Shhhhh

did you guys ever figure out what the issue was?

its actually a bit weird when you compare open interest in calls and puts... normally how i look at it is the open interest signifies the opposite. if theres a big open interest in puts, its bullish. if theres a big open interest in calls, its bearish.

what i also go by is order size of itm option buying. if you see a 10k contract order going in deep itm, its a pretty good indication of where the stock is going.
