Are you guys reading lines from a play?...a script maybe?

You sure make it sound like you are fully involved traders without saying anything specific about what you are buying a selling...at least not before the results are in.

I just saw some stocks that were getting hammered as of late and figured it was going to be a crappy week so why not follow them down more. nothing sophisticated. I had all the option orders set at limit orders for whatever the ask price was at the time but when the market opened tues morn and tanked none of them hit. Too bad, I would be sitting pretty right now if they did.

Net - whats specifics were you looking for?? Let me know and I will add them to my future posts for your reading pleasure.

It's called traderspeak... insider talk that is as different as what African tribes grunt (hmmm, where is Grunt) compared to normal. All my past sports had this unique volcabulary.

This really reminds me of motorcycles. When a really experienced rider tees it up with someone who thinks he's good, the game is on. Rather than enjoy a great day in the mountains, the better one will lead into corners at limit speed testing the other. My best buddy for a time would increase his speed imperceptibly until I was forced to dump speed mid curve. Not fun. But I figured his game early on and now, with my new bike, am a force, to say the least.

Not that anyone should give up their hard fought techniques. People should be forced to adapt their own style and chat gives a growing amount of understandable awareness if one keeps accumulating book knowledge and trading experience as well.

It's refreshing to meet Guru and watch how he communicates. A simple plan you can wrap your head around and can investigate and use or change is a great anchor and totally cool.

Hey, BetonBeer, thanks for your reply.

You covered a good part of the specifics just now. I wondered if you were going in with limit orders or market orders. Also, I wondered what strikes you were trying for. In general, I figure a 'specific' option trade looks like this:
Buying RIO MAR 27.50 Call limit 2.10.
BTW: That may be my opening trade tomorrow. I don't like to submit option trade orders 'on open at market'.
Still, I think I would buy that call at that price.

After I posted my [somewhat pithy] reply to your original post, I read another of your posts and figured your lack of specifics here was just an oversight.
I have a problem with the lack of specific information in Kthomllc's posts. He is a knowledgeable guy, but his posts sometimes remind me of forecasts I might read in Chinese fortune cookies. You just got swept into that issue because he replied to you.

BTW: I have seen a post by Kthomllc that addresses my issues. I want to reply to that. Stay tuned, we may have a 'reconciliation' yet.

Anyway, as an option trader, I am glad you joined this forum. We need more minds working on option trades — that helps us all.
