Default Monthly Stock Pickers Challenge - January 2006

January 2006

1 - Pick 3 stocks you think will have the best % gain from the first trading day of the month to the last trading day of the month.

2 - One stock must be over $100; one stock must trade between $50 -$99.99; and one stock must trade between $5 – $49.99.

3 - The open price on the first trading day of the month & the closing price on the last trading day of the month will be the 2 numbers used to find the % gain.

4 - The 3 stocks % gain/loss will be added together and then divided by 3 to find the average % gain.

5 - You may only have 1 of the same stocks as other members; members can not have 2 of the same stock picks, first come first served.

6 - All picks must be in before the opening bell on the first trading day of the month.

Thierry Martin if we get this game up and running do you think it could become a sticky. Thanks

you could call it " the mini portfolio challenge". a month worth of tracking might be rough on many players .

We need a $100+ stock, a $50-$100 stock, and a $5-$50 stock. I'll play if you can go both long AND short!

CBI, TIE, & WLS, what the heck, only a game, and don't need ten more days to decide. No demands for rules of engagement. I will play no matter what the rules, as long as they apply to all, and as they stand now, looks like a model of simplicity.

I will not be tracking the picks daily; I will only be posting the final results at the end of the month. I will set up a webpage where you can go and see everyone’s picks and starting prices so you can check your own picks and see other plays picks. I run a similar game on another chat board.

What the heck. I had a hard time looking for a stock over a 100. I like google but at that level, I think its already overpriced/overhyped; but you never know, they still haven't released anything to either boost or upgrade their rating in the market. Under armour was an easy choice because I still see a lot of great potential including Eli Lilly which has been great all year. Hopefully these 3 will make a rally for me.

5-49.99
UARM

50-99.99
LLY

100 and above

Only one problem with WFMI, Luc1grunt. It split before Jan 1, therefore is not a $100 stock anymore.
