Default August 2007 trading simulator contest - win a trading book

I have set up another trading simulator for August - 1st prize, 2nd and 3rd prizes are trading books. The first prize winner will also have his win displayed under his name in the forum.

Once you join, you won't have to rejoin every month like before, I'll just reset the contest at the end of every month back to the $100,000 for everyone.

If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can join the August contest with the same username and password by going here. If you have forgotton the game password, which you need to join the June contest, just email me and I will send it to you.

If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime up. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.

You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on August 31, 2007 wins.

The trading simulator/contest is open only to registered members of this forum. (Registering is free!)

Send me a private message and I will send you the link and password for your free sign up.

Glad I got my short position in LEND in the sim, thought I was going to be screwed as it jumped from 40% up to 60%; it's down ~50% AH and news out that it is delinquent in regulatory filings. Let's see how it opens in a few hours I'll catch up to you reef.

I shorted it too and it went up, but I was long BQI and ASTI until this morning.

I might short MEMY and go long with BRLC or IPSU.

Oh yeah, bring the pain baby. Hysterical, isnt it? I had shorted FCMC a few times and then I notice chinaman likes the stock..... Do I sell?? No... I think to myself "well I think its going down with every other stock like it, so I'll stick to my guns". Doh! So note to self, don't go against the chinaman, lol.

I suggest you go quit suicide reef; you have just made the worst decision of your life. I assume the Fed Police are going to be on your tail now, now that you owe them $200 million. Or you can just run and hide in the coral reefs in Cuba. Seems like you still have 215k in cash, build an underwater house.

It just happens I actually have been in the Cuban reefs in Gitmo.

That stock returned to normal, thankfully. It was pretty funny though!
