My recent option plays based on a new system I've developed. System involves picking stocks that have been beaten down extremely hard. These are only paper trades on my new system, but VERY legit considering all transaction were done at the bid/ask for the option and at a quantity currently being offered.

ALL TRANSACTIONS WERE DONE AT THE ASK FOR BUYS AND BID FOR SELLS.

STOCK OPTION BUY DATE PRICE QTY TRANS SELL DATE PRICE TRANS COMM. NET GAIN GAIN %
AUDC .QASKB 10/18/2005 $0.95 10 ($950.00) 10/31/2005 1.3 $1,300.00 $39.00 $311.00 32.74%

I just recently got .THCLK at .95. If you are interested, I will start posting my play ideas. I tried doing this awhile back but no one seemed interested because of the success of TCG and BOO.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Another trade I just completed...

ACMR .QRVKV 10/21/2005 $1.20 10 ($1,200.00) 11/1/2005 $1.65 $1,650.00 $39.00 $411.00 34.25%

Total for all trades completed is a net gain of $4,699.00 (38.94%).

I'm down 30% in the THC options I picked up yesterday but I believe the stock price has already factored in the bad earnings.

My apologies, CBI (Chicago Bridge & Iron).

I'm watching my THC options closely, it may be a loss if the stock can't hold above 8.10.

jacobnbr1
11-02-2005, 11:40 AM
and these cbi options are puts/ calls?

pietistic
11-02-2005, 11:45 AM
.CBILX is DEC 22.50 CALLS. I would put in a limit order for the mean BID/ASK on the option, currently $1.85. I used $2.00 because for paper trades I always do worse case scenario, and that was the ASK at the time.

I'd be a tad more impressed if he gave us the setup going into the entry. from what I have seen so far he is basically giving price quotes. Pietistic, howza bout telling us a stock you are about to short/buy with a price target on the stock to enter the options short/long. For instance, Stock A is now approaching $25, I will buy the Nov 27/23 Call/put options when the $25 target is hit. That would be alot more impressive. Options prices move quickly and sometimes move 30%+ when the actual stock price moves as little as 5%. You guys can simply go to Yahoo finance if you want an update on what a particualr option is selling for. Or check the option screen with your online broker. Do we really need an announcer to update us on options prices? You can decide on your own because maybe I am missing something. Let's see if pietistic comes back with a good call ahead of time next time.

MSO (Martha Stewart)

.MSOLC DEC 15 CALL $1.40

I'm showing a change of +.85 for Dec 15 MSO calls, current bid/axe at 3.20/3.30, nice work if you got these at 1.40 though.

I did BOO, but I sold at $3.00; didn't want to be a pig. BID on the CBI options (CBILX) currently at $2.55 up 25% and I'm tempted to sell.

I look for a lot of things when entering a trade; volume, reversal indications, volatility. These are things each person has to study individually. I don't set price 'targets' for buys. An option is either a buy right now or it's not. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Sold CBILX at $2.55 for 25%.

pietistic
11-02-2005, 04:02 PM
Just so you guys don't think all my trades are good. Here's are the other options I currently hold...

MMSI RMQKV .475 -- BID .20 (-60%)
DHB DHBKZ .70 -- BID .80 (9.2%)
TUNE TQTLZ 1.55 -- BID 1.75 (10.1%)
THC THCLK .95 -- BID .70 (-29%)

As you can see, I make mistakes. However, money management is paramount when trading options. if I sold off everything right now at current prices, I'd still be up $4,680.00 (16.52%) with those bad trades.

Please note that I began this new strategy on October 18, 2005.

vthokienj
11-02-2005, 04:09 PM
Yahoo! shows the low for MSO today to be 16.28 which would make it unlikely someone would have unloaded the DEC 15 call with such a small markup for the time/volatility factor since this is already in the money and would have been worth $1.25 based on that alone.

Not saying I don't believe you got this option at $1.40 but the day's range shows this option traded no lower than $2.10 today...

BOOOYAHOOO!
11-02-2005, 04:11 PM
Well congrats then pietistic! You obviously did something nobody else on the planet could do, buy MSO Dec 15 calls at 1.40 today! But don't you think it is unfair to discuss option plays with everyone if they are in fact not available to everyone? Or are you saying that we all could have bought MSO Dec 15 calls for 1.40 today? Since you don't judge which option to enter based on the price of the stock I guess your decision to go with the MSO 15's instead of 17's was just plain luck then huh? Lucky AND good enough to get in at 1.40 when they never traded below 2.00 today I'm sure. I guess we can always check what the low for the day was if we want to, right? I doubt they were trading at 1.40 at 11 AM EST though. That was the time stamp this site put on your post about MSO 15's at 1.40.

BOOOYAHOOO!
11-02-2005, 04:15 PM
It doesn't matter whether we believe you or not. Only that we have enough info to make a decision  BTW, nice chart! I see you already have a "selective marketing" dept in place! :D

11-02-2005, 04:18 PM
I apologize. Please read my first post. These are paper trades. The option MSOLC was being offered (see ASK) 10 contracts for 2.40 when I opened up the paper trade and bought those 10 contracts. A simple market order would have yielded those options to me.

This is a new system I've been developing. All trades are paper but are based of ASK for buy and BID for sell WITH the no more than the amount of contracts being offered at that price.

Actually, as I'm looking over my numbers, it was $2.40 not $1.40. They were sold by me later for $3.00 (as noted) and the percentage listed was 23% (which obviously means I didn't get them for $1.40).

Sorry for the confusion.

Well that's more like it pie! The first step is to admit your mistake, then you can go on with the rest of your experiment. I hope you don't think I was picking on you. There are lots of unsaavy investors at sites like this. Very easy for scoundrels to infiltrate with lots of nice bells and whistles, free hot dogs and cokes. Before ya know it your getting spammed with e-mails about the next great thing or worse yet your 15 year old daughter is being dropped off on your doorstep by the police cause she ran off to Orlando to meet some guy that promised her a new pair of dem neato TAGS designer jeans. Just wanted to make sure that doesn't happen ova heeeya, know what I'm tawkin bout? :D

I plan on starting real purchases of the recommended options sometime this month. The system is working quite well and I'm confident in it's ability to yield me a profit as long as I don't go against the market regularly.

I closed out DHB and TUNE for 24% and 14% gains, respectively. Both were purchases on 10/26/2005. I would like to attach my portfolio spreadsheet but the message board doesn't allow attachments.

I'll keep posting trades and you guys can decide their worth. I'll quit posting at the request of Thierry Martin, or if anyone feels I'm not contributing valuable information to the board.

BOOOYAHOOO!
11-02-2005, 05:22 PM
No, it's OK pie, you can hang out. It is an open forum after all. That DHB thingy may actually run all the way to 5.00 believe it or not. Maybe even first major resistance at 6.75. I played it as one of only 3 longs I have at a stock game I am playing. I'm holding 3 longs and 33 shorts. The gain in DHB alone made up for the loss I took in all off my short positions combined! Well almost all the loss but not quite. But I think you should keep an eye on DHB although I'll have to admit, I'd be a little skeeered holding it long with a nice gain into their earnings report next week. Catcha later!

GDT worth a short? I think this JNJ deal is going to fall thru and stock will get killed. I am looking at 55 NOV Puts at .70

Any thoughts?

pietistic
11-02-2005, 07:18 PM
Everyone and their dog is on those PUTS. Generally speaking, whatever the majority thinks is going to happen, the market makes sure doesn't happen. I'd be more likely to watch for a bounce and buy the 60 NOV CALLS. Again, it will depend on the market and what exactly is wrong with this stock as I'm unfamiliar with it.

Congrats. I'm getting slaughtered at the moment. MYGN just released a boatload of additional shares on the market at $18.50. Luckily I only bought 5 calls, I'm thinking I should probably triple-up here.

HLTH earnings weren't quite what I expected so while I was up yesterday for a while, I'm down now.

FYI: Sold THC .THCLK options for .6 (39% loss). Stock broke down below support at $8.10. Also sold HLTH .HUTLU at .8 (53% loss). Unacceptable trades, I know.

My profit from this new system still far outweighs the losses even if I sold off everything at it's current prices regardless of profit/loss. I'm still fine tuning the system. I do feel confident in my 3 selections this morning...

I have been studying and developing a new trading system for a while now. I just started trading this new system on October 18. It remains to be seen how consistent I will be through-out the market. As to your second question, I'm already in negotiations with a partner to start a partnership offering option pick services.

DKS .DKSXG simply will not die. Down 17% based on BID. I'm not happy but I don't think I should sell at this point.

RD .RDAL looks great. This stock doesn't have a lot of volume, but their were 85 contracts bought at $1.70 and the bid as since risen to $1.65.

SFCC .JQELF is a disaster. Was up 20% this morning, now down 9% (based on BID). It gave it all back, but I'm still hoping for 30% out of this dog. The spread on the BID/ASK of the option is the main factor hurting right now.

HLTH .HUTLU, my rebuy is looking promising. Up 21% making new highs. Halfway to making back everything I lost on my previous trade with it.

DKS .DKSXG - Finally dying with the market. Option trade is down 7% based on BID, but this is still a solid play.

RD .RDAL - Stock is down slightly (.3%). ASK for the option is more than I paid so I'm satisfied and still feel comfortable with this play.

SFCC .JQELF - Stock is up .17 - Option still has a 22% spread on BID/ASK. Option trade was recommended at 2.75, ASK is at 3.30 and BID at 2.70. Still looks like a solid play.

HLTH .HUTLU - Option trade is up 9% based on BID. I actually need a lot more out of this this it's a wash sale. Hoping option goes to at least $1.25.

Updates:

RD .RDAL - I'm disappointed the stock fell late in the day. B&S still values the option at $1.68, which is $.02 less than paid. This is option expires in January and I still expect it to be profitable within the next week.

DKS .DKSXG - Stock refuses to stay down. The market strength isn't helping matters much. Option trade is only down 4% based on the BID. Keep a close eye on it. B&S values the option at $3.85 (paid $3.60).

MUSE .QUMXU - I'm most excited about this pick as the option BID/ASK has done some interesting things. B&S values the option at $.30 (paid $.35). Current ASK is $.45.

SFCC .JQELF - This stock continues to amaze me with its volatility. I'm actually concerned about this pick and may close out the position soon. Option trade is down 9% based on BID. B&S values the option at $2.90 (paid $2.75). BID/ASK spread on the option is killer, 21%.

HLTH .HUTLU - B&S values the option at $.90 (paid $.75). Option trade is up 9% based on BID.

RD .RDAL - Stock up $.19 today. Option BID is $1.30, ASK is $1.80. B&S says it's worth $2.10. Look for RD to continue to climb next week.

DKS .DKSXG - Stock finally took a beating over the head today, down 2%. Option is up 9.5% based on BID ($4.00). B&S values the option at $4.30.

MUSE .QUMXU - Stock was up $.05 today, ASK never moved lower than our entry ($.35). The stock showed more strength today than I would have liked but this could still be a profitable trade. B&S values the option at $.30.

SFCC .JQELF - This stock was amazing again today, up 3.6%. Option is up 7% based on BID. Expect further recovery next week. B&S value of option: $3.50

HLTH .HUTLU - Stock down $.06 today. I hope high hopes for this option, need it to reach $1.25, current BID is $.75, ASK is $.90. B&S values the option at $.80.

TWTI .QITCZ - TWTI has been on a long decline. Stock bottomed yesterday but I was hesitant until today. Stock held $2.70 and peaked at $2.90. Selling should be over. B&S values the option at $.75.

Option plays that are up:
SFCC options up 17.78% based on BID.
DKS options up 12.27% based on BID.
EYE options up 2.15% based on BID.

Everything else is down but I'm not ready to cut losses on anything. Most of the issue is the BID/ASK spread on the option.

DKS going down nicely, option is up 17% based on BID.

pietistic

Be patient. Notice how the option ASK has increased to $.45 from $.35? That's a good sign the market makers think it's going to die also. The spread is killer right now but multiple times throughout the day they changed the BID to $.25. You very well may double your investment so hang tight.

muse earnings tomorrow at 5pm, what you think about that? and what you think of the insider trading claims against muse? this could be setting up for a real big decline here.

pietistic
11-15-2005, 10:08 AM
I absolutely hate holding anything thru earnings. I was hoping we'd be out of it by the time they announce. That gives us today and tomorrow. I'm really not sure what to think about those insider trading claims, but anything that sets this thing up for a huge fall is okay with me.

jacobnbr1
11-15-2005, 10:20 AM
i was kinda thinking the same on the earnings. i do not want to hold this through earnings but i just might do it. there has been some estimates in the past that were regulary broken to the neg and this could be one. the estimate is .05 per share as of 10 days ago. even if it comes in line might be a good disapointment. it has twice done better than expected suprise reports.

Wow, this daily chart is beautiful... ADX cross-over with the stochastic reversing...

pietistic
11-16-2005, 02:25 PM
No you could very well sell half and buy the calls for the strangle. Remember, these options expire in 30 days, not 10 or 15. Plenty of time for the movement. With earnings coming out, that's probably not a bad idea because chances are the stock is going to move heavily in one direction or another.

There's still 35 minutes left on this hour bar. It's shaping up to be bigger than the previous three bars (which were all 'up' volume). If it is, I'm feeling pretty comfortable going into the close. Like I said, I'll be watching until the bell, if it goes 50%, I'm out. Better to take a profit then get slaughtered.

Took a gamble with MUSE and lost. I should have taken the 44%. Sometimes you never learn. MUSE beat by a cent and they are up nicely, I'm still hoping they pull back enough to give me a chance to break even.

I've got my trigger finger on BOL .BOLXP... waiting for the reversal back down.

So much for my 31% gain yesterday. Making bad calls left and right. I can't believe I gave up 44% to hold MUSE overnight. I knew better. That was stupid.

Currently holding call options in RD, NAPS, TWTI and PUT options in BOL, EYE, and MUSE. Nothing looking too good.

RD has finally came around and is looking decent.
NAPS was a bad call period.
TWTI looked good and I still don't understand why it hasn't moved up.

BOL is so over-extended it's ridiculous, still hopeful this pig dies.
MUSE, was up 44% in the PUTS yesterday, but they beat by a penny even though I thought there report stunk. Now down significantly.
EYE is going with the markets but it's due for a fall...

jacobnbr1
11-17-2005, 02:56 PM

my trading of your picks is my own liability so dont feel bad for me. i knew the warnings before we held and greed kept me in. that greed is a punisher. although i did have one looser stock i thought was going against me and reported bad earnings tonight, i forgot they had earnings report today. anyways my puts should have a better value to them now. also, i think muse was showing weaknes into the close and if a pull back is in the forcast for the general market it may contribute . i may hold until i can at least get .55 out of them unless strong weakness sets in. :D

i have found the options makers do not play fair.... a stock will decrease and stabalize at lower level and before long the option price is back down where you buy it. what give on this?

pietistic
11-21-2005, 11:30 AM
Pricing of options is trickty. When the price falls rapidly, the option price may increase because of a rise in volatility. Once the stock stabilizes at that price, the volatility goes away and the option price falls.

jacobnbr1
11-21-2005, 11:35 AM
i guess you would want to play in the money options to get max out of the position?

pietistic
11-21-2005, 11:40 AM
Without a doubt. Anytime you purchase options that aren't ITM you are taking a pretty good chance of losing everything you invest. The deeper ITM the options are, the better chance you have of not losign your tail if the stock goes the other direction. However, you can also stand to make a heckuva lot more if you buy options just outside the money.

11-21-2005, 11:47 AM
