Stock Picking Challenge

Pick the highest percentage mover and win a free hardcover copy of Conquer the Crash!

Pick any stock that trades in the US market that closed at $2.00 or over with at least 100,000 share volume as of the Friday close before the contest starts on Monday.

Your entry price will be the market open price on Monday morning.

A brief rationale for your pick makes the contest more fun.

I'd say you have an excellent chance if it doesn't gap down to $1 by morning. One analyst actually put a $1 price target on it.

NEW seems to have been delisted... correct me if I'm wrong.

NEW has been transferred to the pink sheets, it's now NEWC, and it lost another 20% today to close at 0.68.

He shorted at 1.68, so 0.68 means he's at a 59.5% gain.

i wonder if aiki would still have shorted had he known the opening price would be 1.68

i beleive it was 3 and change when the pick was made.

id be too scared to short it at a buck (assuming my broker lets me :roll:)

I can't honestly say definitively yes. I might have but I might not have.
They haven't actually been delisted have they? I thought it's suspended and in a week it will be, but the OTC guys are trading in it under NEWC for now.

According to MarketWatch, as of March 13th, Aiki is correct.. It is only suspended, and trading in pinkies.. The delisting is being held up by red tape...

I don't think there is anything to argue about, he picked the company fair and square. I for one was just joking around. It's looking like a moot point now though unless the homebuilders crash and burn tomorrow.

ha, you're funny Thierry... no one would argue, we're all kidding around. Hopefully the ones that live to argue and annoy are gone.

If anything, i think his intention was to short around 3.60sh which would put him well over a 100% gain so far, even with today’s run up!!

Thierry I would like PGIC long for next week.

After 15 straight sessions down, it formed a spinning top and is really oversold with an RSI of 4.8. The down volume is slowing, so maybe next week will be big.
