I have set up another trading simulator for March - 1st prize is $100, 2nd and 3rd prizes are trading books.
Once you join, you won't have to rejoin every month like before, I'll just reset the contest at the end of every month back to the $100,000 for everyone.
If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can join the February contest with the same username and password by going here (http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/StartViewGame.aspx?id=CramersMadMoneySim). If you have forgotton the game password, which you need to join the February contest, just email me and I will send it to you. (http://www.cramersmadmoney.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1)
If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime up. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.
You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on March 30, 2007 wins.
The trading simulator/contest is open only to registered members of this forum. (Registering is free!) (http://www.cramersmadmoney.com/register.php)
Send me a private message (http://www.cramersmadmoney.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1) and I will send you the link and password for your free sign up.

:o I have been following LMRA ever since its spike in November; lost quite a bit of money on it trading it hoping for its many expected PRs and contracts...it has disappointed me and everyone in the past; this one will be HUGE when it finally releases it tech, imo.
I bought it on Friday for a quick bounce seeing how it was oversold and took a typical end of the trading week beating; I couldn't resist getting some shares at a cheap price. I was able to get 3000 shares at 3.70 and got out 4.90 =]
I really wanted to get LMRA for the CNBC challenge but LMRA's market cap was only at 50mil or something, I forget so I wasn't able to trade it =[; would have moved me up big...oh well.
But thanks! Hope I don't screw up now..

Good game bahroor...it's over, haha. :D
I hope you screw up badly.... ....;)

I'm sure it will drop again though; most likely just a short squeeze.

I just shattered the record again; nobody's gonna beat this even if they tried :D Because if they had to, they'd have to know when to go long when its gonna drop or vice versa and that would have to be a supposed 600k gain.
I don't think anybody has yet...hahah. This is awesome...8O

I guess we could have a "booby" prize for the worst performance - it can't be that easy to get numbers like that.

Umm...can you say WOW?!
How did I go from last place (-409,000) to first (+317,000)?
Oh well, I can't complain...I guess the sim had pity for me and converted my amazing losses to gains  If I do remain at the top, 2nd place is the real winner; my ranking is just a glitch....=/
Of course, I'd still love to have the title "monthly challenge winner" underneath my name :D...just kidding.
I had fun shorting DNDN twice today, lol.

Thierry, Please give my winnings for this month to GDFLS and his northern breed dog rescue. Thanks as always for running the forum and the contest.

In a year or so, I'd bet aiki's list of titles for winning the monthly and weekly challenges wil be so long that it'll fill up the whole page length for every post he makes. Hahaha...maybe we should come up with a new name like 'God of Monthly Sim.' or shorten it like Thierry does for the weekly challenges; 'Winner of Monthly Sim x 5947'.
Just my thgts; looking forward to the next sim and hope I don't set a new booby record. :)
