Looking for any thoughts on owning an Audi. Specifically the 2007 A4, but any reviews will be helpful. I am looking to trade in my Saab and find the A4 very compelling. Please let me know if I am making a mistake. Thanks.

is there a reason you are switching from saabs to audis? like a reliability issue? audis are very nice, but tend to have significant problems like engine reliability, and electrical issues. Remember, its a rebadged vw. I'd go with lexus or acura or even infiniti before I went audi, but that's my opinion.

Test drive a lexus. You'll have a hard time stepping back into a euro car. Unless their is a euro status you are after.

I had wanted a Saab for a while and finally got a 2004 9-3, but have not been as satisfied as I expected. It has been in the shop a few times and I only have 26k miles on it. I talked to the Audi people at a car show and they assured me that they were not VW just owned by the same company. But you never know if they are truthful. I love all the options on my Saab for the price, but love the way the Audis drive.

I will go try a Lexus and see what happens. The Acura TLs are nice as well I guess. Thanks guys.

Audi's use the same 2.0T engine. And those engines have real bad oil leakage problems. My friend has a few 1.8T audi's, him and his wife, and they are in shop quite a lot.

Let us all know your thoughts on any and all testdrives though. And while I did somewhat bash audi's reliability, I still think they are terribly fun to drive.

I believe the new bmw m3 with the v8 is coming out soon; you might want to wait and have a look at that.

sorry dude, he was interested in the A4, a high 20k to low 30k car, not a 50k car.

Just took delivery of my 3rd A4. It's a silver/black 2007 A4 2.0T S-Line. My last 5 cars have been BMW, Audi, BMW, Audi, Audi. They have all been very similar in terms of reliability & I haven't had any serious issues with any of them. My advise would be to test drive the A4 and if you like it, don't be afraid to buy it. My 2007 A4 is the best one I've owned to date.

I tested the A4 yesterday and it was terrific to drive. Especially in the sport mode. One thing they didn't have was memory seats unless you upgrade to the v6. I was trying to get a special lease price that they have until March 5, 2007. Once you add on the deal is not as good, but still interesting.
I didn't like the dealer too much though as they were trying to short me on my trade in. So I will shop around to see what I can get at other dealers. But the handling was incredible.

Yes I would love the M3 or and A6, but with a market day like this I might have to drop down to a civic or corolla, no offense to those that drive those cars.

Any other cars I should look at?

Hey ... lets not forget they own Lamborghini. Get an S8 and you'll have the tuned down Gallardo engine =).

I just bought a used 2001 Audi TT Quattro. A nice upgrade from my '04 Civic. I absolutely love the thing and plan on building it up a bit.

Like i said, very fun to drive, but when your tt has electrical failure, which they are prone to have, I hope it doesn't cost too much. When a car that costs that much has problems like that, I don't find that very compelling. Lambos are sweet as hell, but even your tt is going to be like a civic in reliability in comparison.

Well upgrading from a Civic I knew repairs were going to be more expensive but that's the price you pay for fun. Thankfully I got the extended warrenty from Carmax so repairs are $50 a visit (to them) or $75 a visit to the dealership.

not a bad idea at all. My premed friend has one and he had to take it in for wire problems, but its still fun to drive.
