Greeting: Hello from a new member.

Not sure if this is allowed, if not my apologies. Just wanted to take a second and introduce myself.

I'm new to the stock market in general, and trying to learn my way around, terms and what not. I found this forum by looking for more information on Cramer, as I'm sure is fairly obvious. While I don't particularly agree with his advice consistently I've found he has done a fairly decent job of pointing me in directions that I haven't been researching as much as I should and as such gives me motivation to learn more. I am currently not an active trader, just running simulations atm, though when I feel confident that I understand what is going on I intend to jump in to the deepend and sink or swim.

I have browsed around here for a week or two and I feel I've learned a lot more than I knew when I first found it, I'd like to thank those giving various levels of advice for that education.

So, in short, thanks for past advice, thanks for future advice, and don't mind the bumbling idiot in the corner trying to learn what is going on, I'll catch on sooner or later.. :p

You will find some pretty smart people in this forum, who usually are willing to help out a fellow (NEW) investor.
But you will also find some way out there ones also.

Welcome and good luck to you. You'll find some good people and info here, also some freaks and bad advice as well, just take your time and wade through it all :)

If you haven't already I would say you should go to http://www.investopedia.com/ and set up a virtual portfolio and start testing your trades/investments. It is a great tool, put it to use!

GDFLS, thanks for the advice on the virtual port, I've been using a couple other ones that I really am not happy with... One of these stupid things even allowed me to take a split on CMCSA last week and sell it at the previous day's close and rebuy for the next day's opening price.. I was less than impressed with the service.. I'll give it a try, hopefully it'll be slightly more realistic, not looking for perfect real world scenarios but it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out some things just would never be allowed in the real world..

Investopidea is pretty good, it usually takes about 20 minutes for a trade to go thru and you can short stocks, trade options, the whole deal.
