Makes me wish Cramer would just come out and calmly concentrate on Wisdom and Insights with about half the number of stocks he throws out

Great idea... "Cramer Unplugged".

He's much better without the antics for people who really want to think about the investment ideas

His Executive Producer is from "Jerry Springer" if that offers you a clue why Cramer allows himself to be used this way

I know from daily experience working with young people you do not have to play the buffon to get through to them, particularly if you have Wisdom of Age and Experience to impart, and you do this gently, along with letting them come to the conclusions you are right

When "Imus in the Morning" on MSNBC respects you that is pretty good, and he does Cramer (and Cramer is not in his buffon role)

Actually, it is kinda sad watching Cramer whoring himself this way

The Springer guy is an interesting connection. I also wish the antics were toned down, but then would the audience be reduced? The skew of the demographic towards the college age viewer means short attention span and the theatrics are there to grab their attention. It's a tough balance to recruit and hold viewers and present cogent information to all levels of investors.

If there is one big thing I have learned since watching Cramer and enjoying the stock market is the value of patience and more patience (and homework), so I think a good case could be made Cramer's antics do a major disservice to this demographics--In short, even this group need to learn patience as we all do

I think Cramer has said on his show a few times that he likes to watch stocks for weeks or months to see how it trades before he purchases the stock. I guess during that time you can continue doing good research on that possible investment. He also advises people not to buy your full amount of stock at one time. Instead, he says to buy a little position at a time. So if you are thinking of buying 300 shares of a stock, maybe buy 100 this week, another 100 after a few more weeks and 100 shares in a few more weeks after that. Like he says, don't be arrogant.

I like to add to my shares as they reach certain price points instead of time. So if I own 200 shares of a $7 stock, I might add 100 shares if it crosses and stays over $8.00. And if it crosses over $9.00 a share I might add some more shares and so on until I fill my desired full position in the stock.

Waiting is crucial!

Even if a stock looks excellent, I like to get into its M-O

This is a key part of Homework: how does a good stock interact with the market

I am finding he is on the mark about moving into and out of a good stock in stages

If you hold 400 shares of Widget, and the RSI goes 70+, then for 100 or 200 shares put in a 1% Trailing Stop to pick up a few extra cents before the Tipping Point is reach...Then when Widget takes a break and goes down, then do a Mo-Back of your 200

Everyone should take the FREE trial of his Action Plus Newsletter to watch how he does this laddering in and out

When I first started watching Cramer, I bought and sold like a mad man and Hard Knock U taught me some quick lessons

Recall how Springer started, then watch the show's evolution to self-deprecating humor.

Makes me wish Cramer would just come out and calmly concentrate on Wisdom and Insights with about half the number of stocks he throws out
Damn straight. Halve those incessant stock "picks" and double the SELL Blocks. JC does himself a great disservice by not warning folks when to leave.

Boy, is that true! No human regardless the organization behind you should try to do 4 or 5 stocks a night, most of which are nothing more "ad separators"

This may be bordeline hijacking, so I may repost it as another thread...

jc must devote 1 or 2 nites a week where he does just that - FOCUS only on 3 stocks for the entire hour and give in depth analysis. Here, he could display HIS vaunted version of homework, then give a more elaborate game plan showing how he'd operate in hedge fund/trading mode.

This includes looking for signals indicating when it's time to exit the postition if the stock "pick" is an investment that's "gone to trade." Hey, sometimes chartists, computer trading and nefarious Mutual/hedge funds can shave a lot off during natural profit taking to even catch jc unaware. I truly can't believe he'd ride down some of the stinkers he's picked recently. If he was in his fund, he'd be in and out of some of these turds so fast...

i.e. I know he'd have dumped BEAS, MPEL and DAKT - maybe even NYX - then buy them back on dips if he retained his confidence. THIS is the exact info he should give. THIS is the lesson he should give as an "educator" to better inform all of us, thus making us more efficient and nimble investors. His method unwittingly creates static investors.

That's what jc ought to do. He gives the rah rah before the game, but sometimes disappears after the first half, giving the impression he's a huckster. I can't figure out why he does it.

Precisely!

His "Wall Street Confidential" shows the Cramer that made his "bones"

Sure, he may well be 180-degrees off, but this is the side of Cramer one would not haphazardly play against, because he is obviously good, while the all-over-the-map Mad Money Cramer gives a false impression of what he can do...Incidentally, strangely, he does not offer even a paid newsletter to track his Mad Money Picks and Slams to provide some semblance of order...If you buy Widget on his recommendation you are left hanging, unless someone calls in and then suddenly, you discover he no longer likes the stock and he has a good reason us Newbies fail to catch
