Any one else into Single Malt Scotch Whisky?
I am sitting here with a 21 year old Balvenie from a Portwood cask. Absolutely terrific. Looking at a Glenlivet Nadura 16 next.

I'm not a big Scotch fan, but I do collect liquor for my bar if you need a place to store it

I've sipped a bit of Glenlivet 18 yr. recently. A firm body, full nose and palette and rich finish. Makes for an excellent nightcap.
I'm certainly not a connoisseur, but nice to indulge and enjoy a bit of life's finer offerings indeed.
Cheers !

I work with a few folks who have introduced me to single malt. I bet the 21 year old balvenie is great. I have been working on a 12 yr old double wood (balvienie I think) that's pretty good.
I still enjoy a great dark beer... I used to drink american beer like rolling rock, then had a short deployment to Europe and drank all of the bok beir and weissen bier and couldn't stand rolling rock ever again. I also like Guiness and love going to a brew pub and having their stouts with a great big burger and steak fries.

I thought you might chime in on behalf of the mash. The American distillers are offering a bunch of single barrel high end Bourbons that are pretty good, but for good old fashion recreational drinking, I'll go with Jim Beam. Look for me tonight at Buffalo Billiards in Philly.

Laphroaig - when I drink Scotch.
I'm a Bourbon drinker. I really enjoy the smoky flavor of Jim Beam Black.
For whiskey, Gentleman Jack is a fine friday night/ribeye companion.
