I'm taking a poll here, does anyone own Google? When did you decide it was time to buy? I read their financials and it is impressive but the price is too high or is it? Any thoughts?

ohhhh-no,no,no.. it aint over priced yet  they are going to own the internet  this stock goes higher! ( after it falls down 1st   )
it may be a good company but the stock has so much anticipation built up. it is like the .com all overagain. i bet there is more people own this and have no idea why they bought other than they want the .com riches like in the 90's. i am not a a goog owner but i will be the short seller when all indicators turn, and i will be laughing all the way to the bank like the jew i am.

I dont know about GOOG. I kind of agree with Jacob here... A ton of hype. It would only take 1 bad quarter for this to tank back to 250 or 275. A little too risky either long or short for me - So I think I will watch from the sidelines. :D

GOOG is destined to see 265 minimum based on the current technical picture. There is also no reason why GOOG should not see $350 based on support areas from which this pig has risen (it can in fact see $445 based on a new signal that showed up on the chart on Fri). There is also nothing on the chart that says GOOG has to see $350 before it sees $265. However, GOOG is in play and at a price where moves upward mean that many people/fund mgrs will jump on board because they don't want to miss the next rally. So GOOG is a gamble right now bottom line. Since most people "expect" it to see $350 it makes the decision on whether or not to buy a simple one for me personally. The final decision on whether or not to buy for the long term is a consideration of the risk/reward characteristics for both the short term and longer term. Does GOOG qualify as a great long term play as opposed to other places I could put my money? Answer: No! Do I feel confident enough in my ability to trade GOOG to $350 based on other opportunities, and knowing the fact that GOOG will trade to at least $265 at sometime in the future, which means I could end up getting caught in a news driven selloff? Anwer: No freakin way! Bottom line: Avoid GOOG! See how simple this crap is?

Jacob, here's an argument that will help you start looking at sentiment more than hype. At one time just about every single anal-yst including Cramer was basing price targets for GOOG on YHOO's bloated valuation. I doubt that even the Cramer faithful would argue this fact. All of a sudden GOOG is the standard for the internut sector and YHOO is on the back burner. The takeaway? Sentiment has switched to GOOG and away from YHOO which makes YHOO a muuuuuch better short. But hype makes GOOG much more dangerous to the shorts, for now!

Booyahoo - for once you and I agree. Is there hope for more? :)

You are right, when everyone jumps on the bandwagon it gets way too dangerous for my liking.

Not sure what you are saying Jacob, sorry I wasnt more clear before - my opinion is dont buy. It could spike with all of the hype, but it could just as easily go down with some bad news.

It'll spike - probably to around 370. It'll be worth a short-term buy on that. It'll fall after that though.

The long term prospects for this stock are 500 in the next 2 years. But it'll have some wild fluctuations.

I'm not sure it'll get as low as 265 - but it might.

I think it's a buy but I'd rather wait to see where the dust on it settles after the drop from the new high it's about to hit.
