Those who are unemployed should seriously look into the military. There are several branches. It will decrease the unemployed and at the same time make the national defense stronger. Sure it's risky but Uncle Sam is always hiring.

HEY WHERE DOES THAT MONEY COME FROM TO PAY THE SOLDIERS?????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????/

It's the same damn tax payer money whether you work for the military or you get Obama to hire you building bridges.

Any by the way isn't our country broke? Don't most of the citizens have a negative net worth?

People are so deluded by the government and the media to think that the government's money is your money. Yes you pay taxes but that's it. It's no longer YOUR money. Try to take it from the government and see if you don't end up in jail. Or tell the government you won't pay taxes and see what happens.

What going into the military does is create jobs from which people can draw money. That money in turn is cycled and taxed. It is the cycling of money that creates the economy. Even in a closed system this cycling of wealth will create a sense of properity. If you can draw some sort of salary then you are more likely to be able to get some sort of loan. The country will get more broke if everyone just sits on their butts asking for handouts.

The purpose is to create something while getting something. Road bridges and construction create things. It also gives people a feeling of satisfaction. It gives them something to do instead of standin around causing trouble and waiting for a check from the government. The country is broke and beyond that. Would you rather people get paid to do something or to do nothing? Congress doesn't know how to keep the lid on spending. I could ramble on but I won't.

Ahh, I get it; make war to get out of a depression or recession...sounds quite familiar.

Well I'm in the military right now, not for reasons of the economy or such stated above. It is definitely not the thing to do if your just looking for a job. Hit up craigslist if you need a job don't join the military.

At this point, what would you be defending ...if the provision of MCA 2006 is not rescinded by the Executive, before the attempt to restore order is made by the Legislative branch?

What the government spending now, in the bailout plan or whatnot, is money they don't have YET. We are trillion of dollars into deficit. The money that they are spending TODAY is going to be coming from the taxpayers in the FUTURE. So in a sense, the government is spending our money now.

Unemployed people joining the military might be a solution to their own personal finances but that's it.

I have an old college friend that is implementing this very strategy. He has been in and out of civil service and the private sector a couple of times in the past ten years already. I too, if I were desperate enough, look to this strategy.

However, my wife's company is going through a "restructuring" and no one is safe. She isn't exactly the military type. I'd be willing to listen to any other employment possibilities given we'll likely loose the house if she gets let go.
