ECA Takeover Rumors

On Wednesday, EnCana was up on rumors that Shell was making a buyout offer of $65 a share. I don't think EnCana will get taken over because its so big but do you think there is any truth to the rumors?

I think there's no truth at all. Whoever started the rumour should be investigated by the SEC. Stock started the day -5% on the natgas inventory news, then takeover news takes it to +5%! Good profit for someone! Then Encana come out and say that their business model is to become a flagshp Canadian energy company and they have no intention of selling to anyone. Stock plummets again.

I'm tired of this! Some people are distorting the market (hedge funds collaborating, or whatever) and the little guy can't compete. :x
