What's your take?
Here’s my story and I'm sticking to it:
AFC
Manning shows up and Colts defense don't let him down. I'm taking Dungy on the road over the Ravens.
Tom Brady, one loss as a starter in the post season, simply amazing. Well, make that two losses. I'm taking Philip Rivers and L.T. to beat Bellicheck and Brady, won't even be close.
Colts vs. Chargers
sorry Manning, not your year........ AGAIN!!
Chargers play in Super Bowl XLI
NFC
Philadelphia's hot! Garcia's hot! Only one loss as a starter this season, but wait, he suddenly remembers who he is, he's Jeff Garcia people!! I'm taking the Saints over the Eagles at the Superdome. Two words, Brees and Bush, 'nuff said.
Seattle doesn't look very hot right now. Hasselbeck isn't on top of his game and Alexander is slowing down. But guess what the Bears do wrong? That's right, they play offense and Rex Grossman doesn't call in sick. He shows up and Seahawks win on the road in Soldier Field.
Saints vs. Seahawks
no need to explain here..
Saints play in Super Bowl XLI
Saints vs Chargers for the Lombardi trophy.
New Orleans, you've suffered enough, 2007 is your year!!

Anyone but the ratbirds!!! I would like to see Manning get a shot and come up short.
I'm pulling for Nawlins since my team is out. Perhaps next year if they can stay out of trouble.

Jeff Garcia will remember he is a former Detroit Lion and lay an egg you mean! The Seahawks are only there cause of Romo's greasy fingers and the Bears can go Griese if need be. Chicago v. Saints but I still like Chicago D against that high scoring Saints offense.
I'm with you in the AFC, the Colts v Chargers but Manning's defense won't show up.
Chicago v Chargers in the Super Bowl.
Chargers win 46-10.:p

Hey bahroor maybe you can get lucky and have Adrian Peterson drop off to the 10 spot--you southerners keep flipping coaches and nobody takes a look at the HB spot.
Anyways, I'm taking the Ravens over the Patriots in the AFC.
As for the NFC, Saints over the Bears. I've loved Chicago since I saw them beat up my Jets over here, but without Tank Johnson and Tommie Harris they are not going to beat anybody other than the Hawks.
Ravens over Saints. Defense wins championships.

Pretty boring game going on now with indy and the ravens.
I hope philly is eliminated later, I don't want to get back home and have to deal with the Eagles fans if they actually win.
Cleveland Browns to win it all

well.. this is why i don't bet sports, nothing is automatic.
Seattle - Chicago recap:
Chicago played as expected, mediocre. Towards the end of the game I was actually hoping Seattle would lose. How many chances can you give a team to win it? I think I counted 4 at the end. They even got the ball first in OT and blew it. Sick.
Bears host the Saints next week.. I expect the Saints to take care of business and move on to the Super Bowl.
Charger - Pats recap:
Same story, Chargers had chances and blew it. Defined by Brady's interception that was then fumbled and recovered by the Pats for a 1st down. It went from an interception on a 4th down try to a gain and a fresh set of downs for the Pats. Give Brady chances like that and he makes you pay. Sorry to see the better team lose. Sometimes I wonder what a by week does to a team.
Colts host Pats next week... If Manning plays this 3rd post-season game like the last 2, Pats win it, no question. I'm almost tired of seeing the Patriots in the Super Bowl though.. either way, Saints still win it all.

Ok, I'm ready to pick now that it's been thinned out a little; Saints win it all, based on the Katrina tie-in.

watching the games with the long time football buddies this weekend, we came to the same conclusion re the saints. how could something as large and well covered as the nfl be rigged for political purposes? i still do not believe it could be, but if NO wins the bowl, take a look at superbowl winners by year since 2001 season. I'm rooting for the underdog saints, since we don't have a team in L.A. -
Colts vs patriots game should be fun to watch.

I think the saints will beat the bears who have done nothing but suck lately. I also think the colts will beat n.e. by a winning field goal from vinitari. The super bowl will be won by the won by the colts.

How about that indy game, that was a good one. So who does everyone think will win super bowl 41?
Tom Brady is a sore loser, anyone else notice he just ran into the tunnel as soon as the game ended. He didn't say to congratulate anybody. The same with Belichec, he completly ignored Manning when the game was over.
My choice is Indy over the bears 27-14

And did you happen to catch that post-game interview?? What the hell was that? You would think professionals making a lot of money could handle defeat a little better.
There you have it, Brady and Belichick representing Boston.
Back to the important stuff..
Manning played his best game ever IMO.
He needs to win this one to close the deal. Rex vs. Manning. One would think it's a no-brainer.
Colts over the lowest paid head-coach in the League 30 - 14
Oh yeah, quick message to the Bears... next time you're hosting a big game in town.. how about laying down some FRESH GRASS!!
I'm out

Well I am probably going against the popular opinion, but I've just placed a bet with a friend for a $20 poker buy-in and a case of beer. Chicago +7 over Indy. Great special teams & D, but I think it all hinges on which Gross Man shows up and Indy's D. Go Bears!

Anyone but Indy.

Well, I'm like the stock market; always a little ahead of the game..
Yes, my avatar is from SuperBowl XLI and I'm telling you right now... that's not "Gross Man" holding the Lombardi.

Bears defense/special teams will win the superbowl.

Now let me say first that I would not a place a very large bet on this pick, but I will go with Da Bears. Defense wins championships!

I'll pick the Colts. The NFC was awful this year. I think 5 of the AFC playoff teams are better than the Bears(everyone except KC).
I think the Bears can only win if they get plus 3 in turnovers. They might even need a defensive or special teams TD. Or they could win if Manning gets hurt early in the game and can't play anymore.
I really think it will be a blowout and the commercials will be the real entertainment during the game. :)

Ok guys everyone is saying how defense wins championships but seriously the Bears Def is not that good without T. Harris and he isnt playing, they had one good game (vs. Saints) and everybody forgets how bad they were at the end of the season and their other playoff game. And the fact that they are suseptible to the deep ball. I do like their special teams play and that could be a factor, but I dont see this game even being close. I think Indy offense will have its way both running and passing.
Final Score:
Colts 34
Bears 17

Great defenses never won anything. That's just a dumb old myth, before there was a passing game. A team is defined by their defense when their offense isn't worth a mention; enter Chicago.
Great defenses just make it a bit harder for great offenses to win. They slow down the game and might even put a score on the board. Sure, they might create a turnover or two, but I'm sure lil' Rex will give it right back.
Bears might have a chance if Manning goes down the first half. Maybe they'll try to re-injure his already injured thumb.. We’ll have to wait and see.
Almost like when they made sure their field was in the worst possible condition for the Saints game.. Too bad weather and field conditions won’t be factors in Miami.
And can someone explain why the number one seed in the league enters the title game as an underdog?
