Just hit $1.00. I got in this a while back thanks to Chart Guru.

I missed the boat. Sold out what I had for about even. Thought it was dead money. Good for those who held. Hope your still in this one Frank.

I sold FORG a long time ago. It was dead money for a while and I have made some nice trades during that time. But, anyone who bought FORG during the Stage 1(base) around .40 has made a killing. FORG has a gap to fill at around $1.20, so there may be some profit taking Monday.

I bought some of Guru's picks and do seem to make money as long as I'm not impatient (which is difficult). He knows what he is doing but sometimes the timing is just a little off. Not his fault at all as you can't always predict the market with 100% accuracy but he does find 'em when they are down/oversold.

Thanks again Frank! I got in the FORG for 500 shares at about .60 and have my stop at .90. $150.00 profit doesn't hurt. Looks like it's gapping up another this morning so I'll be watching it close.

What is it you mean by "a gap to fill"? I am new to this and trying to learn the lingo etc;. I am basically throwing darts right now, and learning about dif companies. Forgent was the first one that interested me, so I am doing a little research. I am an absolute greenhorn, so please tell me if there is any validity to my following thought.......It seems to me that forgent has been around a while, and have had some strong years in the past. I know of the pending litigation, and feel a favorable ruling could boost this stocks value. I also know that 80% of sales is generated through Intel. property. During their last conference call, I noted a statement that said Forgent would move toward being a software co. and away from intel. property for future revenues. This says to me that there may be a rise in the short term if they receive a favorable ruling, and may go flat, or dip after the suit has run its course. Any thoughts on my thoughts, or am I totally missing the picture?
Thanks alot for your time, Sean O'Brien

Areas that have seen large volume create levels of resistance because lots of people have bought and/or are looking to sell at these prices. Resistance will be both above and below the current bid/ask for a stock. Long periods without large volume at particular prices tend to wash out these resistance levels somewhat. Often the resistance levels that remain are a long way apart. This can also be seen to happen in a big selloff day or big buy up day. This is a "gap". A stock sitting at the top or bottom of a gap is likely to fill it at some point - whether that means that it goes up or down. This is more true the less fundemental info that there is available since this is a purely techical analysis.

Other resistance levels such as the MA lines, bollinger bands, etc also often come into play.

People look to buy at lower resistance levels (strengthening these levels in the process) and sell at upper levels. Stocks to really watch are those breaking through resistance. In a bull market, stocks at 52-wk highs have no resistance above them so make greats buys. In a bear market these same stocks will get crushed as people take profits.

I hope this makes sense.

I realize some people might think this over simplified, but it's a good place to start with TA, I think!
