Bank of America offers trades for $5, and you can set it up to take it from your checking account, so it works out well for me. Its a free service, if you are a customer already. They have some nice financial tools and real time quotes, so thats what I use. Think about if you already have an online banking account with BofA.

You could also try Sogo Invest $3 trades.

I think if you wire in the money it is available for use right away.Other than tah I am very satisfied with their service.

is there a BofA demo for this. i want to check it out first before i think of switching. i searched online and couldn't find anything.

it says if you have a balance of $25k, you get 30 free trades, if you balance dips below that it says $5-$10 comissions. if the typical trade costs $5, which ones cost $10?

Duster, keep in mind that your commissions will come out to 10% (round trip) of your initial deposit. Ten Percent is very high if you ask me.
So ask yourself before you buy, what kind of gains am I expecting from this one stock with 100 bucks?

the only downside to that vecco is that if you trade the same stock more than 3 times in a consecutive 5 days, you are considered a day trader and have to hold a minimum $25,000 in your account...

does anyone have experience with BofA? are the real time quotes and watchlists pretty effective for trading like the scottrader v4.0 is?

Is the main site for investing on BofA, it should provide more help than I can.

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/html/emoticons/thumbsup.gif thanks for the link man. i am thinking about switching over to this. i didn't see their realtime quotes demo, but i did see how the trading works on there. haha, kind of scarry though having your bank account directly connected to your trading funds, something i wasn't used to on scottrade.
