December 2006 Trading Simulator contest - First Prize $100.00

I have set up another trading simulator for December - 1st prize is $100, 2nd and 3rd prizes are trading books.

If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can join the December contest with the same username and password by going here (http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/StartViewGame.aspx?id=CramersMadMoney_Dec).

If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime up to December 23. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.

You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on Decemember 29, 2006 wins.

The trading simulator/contest is open only to registered members of this forum. (Registering is free!)

I sent an email to MarketWatch and now when I go to "Make a Trade" I was able to place an order. (For Monday, of course.)

It's the same password as last month, but you still need to enter it to join the game.

Thierry, the simulator doesn't allow me to make a trade. I get a "You are not playing in any games" message. I have logged out and logged back in and I still get last month's results and still can't make a trade. Please help. Thanks

The URL for the new game is http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/StartViewGame.aspx?id=CramersMadMoney_Dec - once there, you have to log in with your own email and password and then join the new game by entering the password for that game. I'll send you the password by PM.

ok if it isnt very apparent yet im new to this and need to know what the terms mean! i want to trade some stocks and dont know what it means to sell short or buy to cover or the limit and stop prices... im a newbie so forgive me and please teach!!!!!!!!! i woul dlike to learn as much as possible from this so i can do better in the next months simulator. thank you for yalls time and putting up with me!

no i dont trade with real money yet but like i said i am bery eager and want to leanr as much as i can..... so thank you for the link and i look forwad to using what i learn towards next months simulator.

haha, I shorted it also and lost 10K (paper money), covered this morning.. and I'm looking to short it again soon and make 20K.

way overbought/overvalued/piece of junk search engine.

ive moved up from 21st place to 5th so booyah!!!!!! but knowing my luck ill drop down to last place with like 2 days left so i hope i did my homework right!!!!!

I managed to trade my way out of first today with a couple of bad decisions, then I saw the harrahs deal cross the dow jones newswire and pulled the trigger, unfortunately could only get 1400 shares @82.30 but got in before they stopped trading. Should be around 90 in the morning. Might get me back in front.
