Citigroups board of directors will meet Friday to consider auctioning off parts of the bank, or even the entire firm, after another sharp slump in the stock price. This could bounce the stock with them selling off their assets........

Citi shares reverse course, sink as sale talk optimism fades
10:26a ET November 21, 2008 (MarketWatch) NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - Shares of Citigroup reversed early gains Friday and fell 12% after early enthusiasm about a possible sale of all or part of the company waned.
Citi shares lost 12% to $4.16.
Citigroup's board of directors is to consider auctioning off parts of the bank, or even the entire firm, after another sharp slump in its stock price, according to a published report.
The talks are only at a preliminary stage and don't signal a change in management's stance that the bank has ample funding and strategic direction, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Citi will not sell itself entirely. Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. Citi is in a much better financial situation than people think. I have listened to management and seen the numbers, numbers don't lie. 2 cents.

I think someone will come in and buy it at $2, that's cheap! Only a 15-20 Billion I think.

Thank you! plus many funds have to sell "penny stocks" as what happened when it went under 5. I do not think they will need bailout, I believe they are in much much better shape that the stock.

Yes, I own some, unfortunately some was at 12-13 range. I decided to wait and let it fall hard as the momentum is not in my favor. I will be grabbing some soon. I am just wondering why everyone thinks Citi will go under like Bear and Lehman. And I do not believe you can blame much or even at all on Pandit, this crap was all from Prince's era.
