Not compulsory - but a short rationale for the pick would make this contest more interesting.

So here goes -

AAPL - going into the Christmas quarter this stock is not done going up along with the sales of iPods which show no sign of slowing down or any real competition for best-of-breed.

TWLL Breakout on Friday without an end of day sell off ( eod rally actually), may continue and hold some of the gains through next Friday. Handily beat their Q3 estimates, strong Q4 estimate and an analyst upgrade.

SIRI They announce on weds. Could go either way, if it's up a 10-15% move seems possible. If I had another screen name I'd short it. XMSR also announces this week and I may do an options straddle going into that.

urz, please. did some researching on the U price reset this weekend. very hard to find good juniors/ explorers without going over the counter (like gold miners) next thought: wanted to short a large producer with a big hedge book, but the BoB is CCJ, and they have bad news from a flooded mine well priced in, at this point. still goes lower, but not as much potential for the weekly. did find some interesting plays in aus and can, and an old gold fav of mine RTP has some U exposure- was wondering how they busted 220 with gold still near 6 and a quarter. i thought it was the iron ore. anyhow, the only other of interest in the us, and not on the pinks was useg, but i didnt like the chart. as always for entertainment purposes only, and do your due.

I love the justification idea.

My pick of ZUMZ is actually more of a two-week pick, for they report next Wednesday (11/15). We've seen the majority of retail report positive earnings as of late, and I don't see ZUMZ being any different. All of the action sports apparell stocks are knocking the lights out; but this is all contrart to Pacific Sunwear's sales just absolutely dying in September and October. This points to the continuing emergence of ZUMZ. I'm a frequent customer there, and the traffic in the store and the turnover in product is undeniable. The stock currently rocks a P/E of 62, which really isn't all that high next to its 42% quarterly growth. They just reported that total net sales for the month of October are up 50% from October of last year, which says that growth rate isn't showing any signs of stopping.
The only thing that scares me is the .27 analyst estimate, which is 58% higher than this quarter last year. I'm pretty confident they'll beat that by 2 cents or so and get back to their 52-week of 38 (it's at 32) by the end of next week.

Any thoughts?

LMRA 10.03 +1.59 (18.84%)

:D, I'm actually doing a stock market simulation contest right now for my AP econ class and I am very very glad I invested in this stock when I got it for 6 bucks a pop.

Had a ton of SIRI @ 3.85 sold at 4.20, 4.25, 4.30 and unfortunately today at 4.13 but a great play all week.

Played EFUT all day including a long short long that killed and I'm breaking a rule holding through the night but I'm in at 18.09 right now and even with a serious gap down I feel comfortable that I'll get out with my skin.

By the way my "Little yellow jacket" wall clock came today. :)
