It's been tough to find some good longs. So I'm going short for now. So far I have had good gains on KKD, MOBE and CHTR.

Many times shorts can produce bigger gains then longs. Traders tend to sell into panic and gains can be huge. Just pick an overbought stock, watch the hourly chart begin to look negative and short the stock. I was watching BHIP this morning, but had to go work. I just got back and it's down over 15%!

November is always rough ,, lots of window dressing going on , things that had been working stop working and new leaders emerge ... pretty normal...

If you're having trouble finding good long positions try doing your own research instead of following King Jim ,, get a sub to IBD and you'll quickly learn where he gets most of his ideas ... IBD ==> his analyst ==> Jim ==> you ,, the Watts Water Tech pick today was in IBD's "New America" column a week or two back ,, very good story , they have new tech to extract water from air ,, bypassing problems and expenses common with desalinization equipment.. not a big deal here but they WILL make huge money in remote areas...

Shorting is OK ,, I've done it successfully but I pick on broken companies and old leaders that are in 3rd or 4th stage bases and way overdue to correct... the overbought/oversold indicators are tricky and are a secondary (or lower) indicator. You would do well to cruise the "new 52 week lows" list and pick something with terrible EPS and RS; That BHIP you shorted is playing with fire ... anything under $10 should generally be off limits ,, and this is around $2 ,, do you have any idea how strongly the pink sheet traders can manipulate something like that, especially as it's volume is so weak most days (20-50k shares)...

Dude ... you gotta do your own research on this site and read Guru's other posts on this site before you make comments like that. You made me laugh though. Damn newbies!!!

I think I may start cashing in on my big gainers, then just stay neutral for a while.

I have a question:

I thought that all brokers only allow short selling $5 and higher priced stocks. May I know which broker allow short selling the stocks valued under $5 (like BHIP) ? Thank you.

PS Welcome back Guru.

Svenwulf, why do you say we are not good friends? We may disagree in our politics and our religion, but that doesn't make us enemies. I love you my brother. Like I said before, I bet that we would get along better in person then we do in this forum.

PS Welcome back Guru.

I use Interactive Brokers. They let you trade, including shorting, many stocks under a dollar.

Thank you for your replies.

I have another question: Which online brokers allow stop loss orders on OTC/BB stocks? Thanks again.

Speaking of shorting...anybody looked at WLB lately? They missed yet another deadline from AMEX, and may be prime for shorting until they are forced to show their cards on the 7th (I think it is the 7th).
