AVNR looks like a good oversold candidate. Bounce off a low of 3.16 earlier.
Comments please

I think AVNR will take off today or Monday. It formed a reversal signal in the oversold area. That's what we look for!

No go today, so far. But it is even MORE oversold. I think it should have a really good bounce in the next day or two, currently at $2.89

Any thoughts on the future outlook of this stock after todays move?? New to this and I assume it was the news earlier for the sale of shares that caused the drop??????

I think EMIS has found some support there at 5.5 and it is very oversold. So it just might bounce.

nice move to all the looongs
I have said before, when an extremely overstock stock catches a small spark, it can create a forest fire! The bears took their profits and the Bulls stepped in and AVNR took off! I wouldn't be surprised if it takes off to $4-$4.50

Bahroor, unfortunately, I did not buy AVNR. I have all my funds on KKD, FCEL and CHTR. If you would have drawn a 15 minute trendline, you would have noticed that $3 was the safest entry, when it broke above it.

Yeah i am still holding. It was finding support around 2.90 on Friday. I set my stop loss pretty tight on the support. Today is a good market environment day. I was predicting it would gain momentum from the bulls but it has yet to do so.
I am hoping for a post lunch rally!!!!

I would also think that with this news share prices would go up. This was supposed to happen on or around Nov 6th.
Avanir Pharmaceuticals (AVNR) signed definitive agreements to sell to institutional investors about 5.3 million Class A common shares at $2.85 each.
My thinking is that this would decrease supply therefore increasing demand and ultimately increasing share price. Since this release AVNR has continued to be oversold. What is this reason for this?

To anyone who reads charts well, do you think this stock is down for the count? How about in a sideways movement before it takes off?? Any input would be great!!

Watch 2.75 for support if it breaks this can tank further down...

Wait for the price to cross above the MA(5) and the MACD to begin its near crossover. When a stock drops this low, we need confirmation of a bottom.

Seems like it has been improving every day.I think this stock needs positive volume to shoot it up still trading way below than the avg volume.

LOL - you're welcome - I probably bought your shares at a nice high price :) I think there will be some profit taking on this one today (especially on a friday) but like TCG said a while back - if this thing sparks it could scoot on up to the $4 range or more. I mean looking at the history even a year back- this guy has been beaten worse than a Mike Tyson cellmate, gotta be a little room for improvement (he says optomistically)..

Friday's Early Winners and Losers: Cost Minus
By Sarina Penn
TheStreet.com <-------- HA! what do we know! Good ole Cramer!
Avanir Pharmaceuticals (AVNR - commentary - Cramer's Take - Rating) gained after the San Diego-based company announced that it had been selected for the Nasdaq Biotechnology Index. The index only lists companies that meet certain minimum criteria in such measures as market value and average daily share volume. The listing will take effect when the market opens on Nov. 20. Shares were up 15 cents, or 5.3%, to $3.00.
I'm in it, and I'm holding in it for a few days. Monday should be interesting.

avnr price drop was an overreaction to the approvable letter it received from the FDA. the market acted as if FDA denied the application, and as people see the company make moves to get their drug approved, the stock price will quickly go up.
it's just icing when they announced the listing on the Nasdaq biotech index!
