First off how can Obama do anything about this? He actually does not go into office until Jan 20th. Maybe we should look to our great current leader George W Bush for the answers. After all, he has done such a fantastic job that I bet if it were him running again instead of McCain he would have handed the Democrats asses to them on a platter, don't you think?

Second, I can see where if they let GM and Ford sink it will do much more damage than giving them a loan, just like they did the banks. After all, these are manufacturing jobs which everyday blue collar workers do. Unlike the bankers and investment brokers which are basically bullshit ponzi scheme salesmen who stole money from hard working retirees. Used to the markets were for investing. You actually invested in a company you believed would prosper and grow to increase your wealth. Now, when you buy a stock you better be ready to dump it back because if it went up just a little in a few days it will surely fall back.

I have a feeling the guberment has been fabricating the numbers the last few months to try and fool the voters into thinking everything was ok. Wasn't it our supreme leader George W Bush who told america a few months back, " the economy is fine". Now look at it, the worst in history in a few months?

I don't know how Barack will do, I wrote in Ron Paul because I believed in him. Did I waste my vote? No, because it was my vote and he is who I wanted. But I can say one thing, at least we will have someone smart in the Whitehouse for a change. Obama was first in his class in Harvard Law School. Will he just be another good ole boy in the political loop once he is there? I hope not, I hope there is at least one person left in this country that wants to do what is good for the country. Everybody slams him because he has had a radical " preacher" for the last 20 years. Now look at what they are saying now. They don't want that " Muslim" going into office !!!......Right, a " Muslim" went to a Christian church for 20 years.

He has told us that he wants to be out of Iraq in 18 months. I say good, it is nothing but a waste of taxpayer dollars and a boondoggle for war profiteers. We were lied to when we went in, they should put the main people on war crimes trial for the deception. Everyone is worried about taxes going up. People $5.00 a gallon gasoline is one heck of a tax. Keep gasoline back down to below $1.50 and I will have plenty of money for taxes. This unrealistic real estate bubble, what about it. Do you really think a 900sq ft house in Cali or Florida was worth 1.2 million dollars? No, if so they would be selling, the guberment learned from the " read my lips, no new taxes" mistake of Bush Sr. They quit raising taxes, they just tripled and quadrupled the value and the herd of sheep known as the american people fell for it. Now look at the property taxes for property owners. It is way out of kilt, but they didn't raise taxes, they kept their promises. Then keep in mind, banks have bigger loans to make and insurance companies have more volume to sell. But people are under this facade that they are worth alot of money because they have a 1.2 million dollar house.

The people voted for change one way or another, maybe change is what they will get. Good or bad it will be change. What is the usual saying, " are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?" If so then it probably because you worked you ass off twice as much and have drive. Damn sure not because of the good ol american 40 hours work week. I feel like Obama at least has earned a chance to either fix things or screw them up worse which judging from the last few months worse does not have much more room to go down.

Now please, don't anyone send this message to the Bush clan anytime soon. I don't want them to illegally wiretap my phone, come and abduct me for now reason, then recieve orders from Cheney to waterboard torture me because I was " unamerican". Just for the record, I voted for Bush, twice. That is probably what I am disappointed the most about in myself.

If your house is on fire, Rule # 1 is save your behind

In retrospect, you will have made a lot of stupid moves, but you are still left standing to see in retrospect

Financial crisis come and go, as this one

Remember Capitalism is sociopathic (if X can be done or built or bought it will be; the Good of Mankind is simply a byproduct) and that is the way it is...

The government should not interfere with the markets. But politicians just can't help themselves. GM, Ford and Chrysler should have to figure out a way to survive on their own. Loaning them money is like loaning 5 grand to a relative that is addicted to drugs and gambling. You don't reward bad behavior. They had a talk about it on CNBC and I'm on Peter Schiff's side. The government will just throw more money away while we go deeper into debt.

You are right, and the American voter put the politicians back in office who got us in this mess buying off voters--the old cliche about putting the foxes in charge of the hen house knowing who the foxes are

Anyone should have smelt Trouble when that 500 page bailout bill passed in less than a week

Who could digest such a bill in that length of time

However, the fact is our financial house is on fire and we are forced to turn to only one damn fire department: congress with a fire chief (president) to-be who is one of them--McCain was simply Democrat Lite, so the fire chief of this mess would have continued as usual

Practical answers are grim to read and to hear about

No doubt more of those 500 page bills no one reads until after their passage

The problem with the drunken relative analogy is that sometimes you give him some liquor or walk around money so that you can make it through the holidays without an incident. Sometimes you pray that he doesn't show up at Xmas dinner. He's either gonna make it or end up in some gutter face down.

Capitalism is exploitation of man by man,
some get richer and most get poorer.
To me it's fancy words to steal your money anyway they can.
Legally, of course.

Capitalism rewards sociopathic behaviors, while Socialism rewards sloth, as we will see shortly

Such is life...

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."

-- Winston Churchill

Capitalism made the USA the greatest country in the world. Socialism would kill the American dream and destroy it.

All you have to do is look at China. They started to introduce capitalism to their country several decades ago. Now their people are significantly better off for it. Hundreds of millions of people have raised their standard of living that would have never been possible under socialism.

America tried socialism in 1620. It didn't work out.
