is anyone making money today? indicies down. crude getting slaughtered. PMs under serious pressure. and bonds already way too rich. haven't seen a drainer day like this is several weeks. my 3 legged stool is getting shorter by the second! good luck folks!

just for paranoia's sake, are they starting the amaranth liquidation this morning?

cbay and ezen arnt taking a hit (so far)... And then there is MNCS which seems to glide upward unwaveringly, no matter what the market condition.

I sold all of my stocks except for Starbucks, and it is holding up well today.

Let it drain .... it's October. The typical cooling period for the market. Once it bottoms/settles off in a couple weeks- buy what you think is defensive growth, diversify then prepare for a ride. Meanwhile grab quick profits where ye may, or short it short it short it, all of it.

We are entering a new 15 cycle of market behavior, waveform heading generally downward. think late 90's- in reverse. still, there plenty of chances to grab gains along the way though i'm betting LT is rough going for most companies. imo.

I'm just holding Starbucks and XING. Starbucks is paying off big now :). Hopefully XING takes off with it. Everyone's making money today.

Hell yea on starbucks. I bought it after it tanked from earnings. Up an easy 20% now. I'm also holding MSFT [although if it can't take out 28 i'm selling].
