Microsoft released a price and date for the Zune. Looks like November 14th and a mere $249.00.

Mere $249? If they really wanted to get a foot in the door with mp3/video players, they needed it to be CHEAPER than the competition. The equivelant iPod is also $249.

Sorry Microsoft, this is a good idea, but I hope you don't expect it to be a hit. It's got potential, though.

The Wi-Fi capability is what I'm really interested in. I won't run out and get the first generation. I'll wait until the second gen ones are in development. MS can pull this off. The same team behind the Xbox is behind this. They were able to take a huge chunk away from Sony and Nintendo.

There are tons of rumors as to what MS intends to integrate the Zune with. If half of them are true, they might really have something here.

Ask anyone under 30 what they'd rather have, as a gift for the holidays...a Zune or a video iPod? Thank you, Microsoft. This will only cement Apple's dominance.

i agree. it will be moderately successful, but will have nothing on the ipod. It will take some competition away from other players like sandisk.
