Xboilermaker (or anyone) do you know what materials they normally use to manufacture oil and gas pipelines? Are they made out of metals that can corrode?
Also, what exactly does CBI do with pipelines, do they lay them, manufacture them? Or does anyone else manufacture or lay pipelines for oil and gas companies that you know of?
Thanks for any info! :o

CBI did not do pipelines during my period with them, but if you go to cbi.com and clik the "industries served tab, you will see that they seem to cover everything. No, they don't manufacture anything, but buy the type of stocks they need, ie, steel plate of all thicknesses, tubing of all sizes, and fabricate to specifications necessary for the job. Once a few are built, it is more or less repetition, or a 200' floating roof tank is a 200' floating roof tank, with all the thousands of parts the same over and over.
If you want the hottest pipe maker, that would be Tenaris TS. Vivian lewis has more than doubled her money, and is well on her way to tripling since May, when the competition started. I have been going to buy, then get cold feet because it has been soaring so fast, then 20 or 30 percent higher always say darnit, I should've. You want to see what it's done for her, go to strategy lab summary, then clik on Vivian, then her portfolio. As a matter of fact, she just wrote an article about how she came to find it.

Thanks for the info! I am also hesitant about buying anything that's had a big run up, lately, and if I don't feel sure about it, I'm not doing it. The last two stocks I bought at lows.

CBI keeps getting away from me, due to my trying to steal it. Last week I tried to get it for 29 and missed, then raised to 30 and still missed. This morning, I offered 31 and looks like I missed again. Gonna have to wait now, because I'm through chasing it, and that's right back where I sold it anyway.

That's sounds like me and RIG and it's right back to where I sold it off, too! Don't you hate that? hahaha
