BRCM still going just hit a new day high. RMBS looks to test the day high and resistance. Once rmbs gets going it can run big time as it has before. Just need some more volume to come in. Good luck

Testing resistance still looks like it has more left in it after a nice run the last few weeks. This 1 can have some big moves both ways. HOD

I"m happy INFA(my favorite) is doing well today.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=INFA

TIBX is finally moving back up too. I think tech should do very well the next few QTRs.

I'll also buy more ENTG if it can ever hold $11.00.

Not a tech stock, but I should have bought SCSS when it was around $19.50. I'm buying one of their beds this week. They come out with their QTR update this Wed. If the news is good, that stock could rocket because of the large short position. I'll pass for now though. Maybe I'll buy afterhours on Weds.

If oil continues lower the techs could have a huge rally imo. If oil dips to $60 could be a real nice run in many techs and some of the transports like FDX and UPS.

In the sake of seasonality I figured I'd resurrect an old thread given the topic is the same...

It seems pretty evident that tech has lead the broader averages after the July 15th low - except for maybe the smallcap heavy Russel 2000. Traditionally, back to school and prior to Christmas are the seasonally strong times for tech. I don't have enough faith in this phenomenon to buy the QQQQ. However, does anyone like PALM, AAPL or RIMM with recent new product launches headed in to Christmas along with a concomitant move lower in the cost of energy (e.g. gasoline and nat gas)? What tech plays look strong enough to weather a dicey market?

I can't figure out what is the problem with intel... I know it is not a growth stock but it is seriously stuck in a rut... Also, the recent movement from microsoft has been somewhat disheartening.

I agree. Vista was supposed to summon a PC revival as consumers upgraded their hardware to accomodate the newest generation of Microsoft's operating system. I think the problem has to do with Vista's many glitches which has retarded the upgrade cycle. If you're looking to point fingers, blame it on Microsoft. However, Macintosh has been gaining marketshare - though they are still only a fragment of the entire PC market - if you're looking for growth find out who their main chip supplier is if they don't do it in house (sorry not a Mac guru).

Apple, I believe still uses intel chips but I think there has been some talk that intel is not going to be their sole supplier any more... I have also heard/seen where microsoft is going to ditch vista and implement a new OS called windows 2009/10 depending on when the release it... Microsoft is very much still in the game... i think that apples OS is very trendy and has its nitch with graphic design/video editing. I don't think it is very efficient for office use...

You can use AAPL for anything that you would use a PC for. The great thing is guys it doesn't crash, as much. Trust me when I say this, it is a beautiful machine to use. I have a Mac and I don't ever see myself using a PC ever again. You can also get a windows parallel software that lets you run any program on a mac that you would on a pc. So go ahead, get a mac, I am sure you will love it. The great thing is the OS is very user friendly and you can do multiple operations without any slowdown.

Ok, I'm going to poke the fire on this one......

Buy a mac and then buy the hottest game out, will it run on mac? Then in 6 months try to buy the hottest game out and see if you can upgrade your graphics card when it is outdated ..you can't. Also, why would you use an operating system with no useful proprietary software and then use an emulator to adapt windows software to use on it.... back to what I was saying.. It has a good and powerful system for photo shop and video editing. Also, the mac you get for 1,500 can be had for 1,000 with a PC if you don't care how sleek or cool the comercials are. I think mac is all in the advertising... These are some of the reasons that corporate America isn't adapting to mac...

On another note... the Iphone is pretty damn amazing.

Yestrday's selloff presented a nice entry in the stocks mentioned above: RIMM, AAPL, & PALM. Personally I'm waiting for a confirmation in RIMM. But, I do like it the most out of the three and think it will do well going in to Q4.

RIMM had a nice move intraday but sold off to the end to finish ~80 cents higher.

Will RIMM go below $110 before making another run to >$130?
