Is there a website or free program that can spit out a companies sector?

I have a list of about 100 companies that I need to break down without having to look up each one individually in YAhoo Finance. This is all in the name of sector diversification. Thanks.

Hi coolio,

Take a look at Morningstar.com http://www.morningstar.com/

Type in any stock symbol for your price quote, and a bit lower on the page you'll see a section or key stats. Within that block you'll find the industry, sector, market cap, sales, and stock type that relates to that specific stock.

For instance, the info for GE is as follows:
Key Statshttp://im.morningstar.com/im/dot_clear.gifhttp://im.morningstar.com/im/dot_clear.gifhttp://im.morningstar.com/im/dot_clear.gif
Morningstar Style Box = Large Core
Stock Type = Cyclical
Industry = Electric Equip.
Sector = Industrial Materials
Market Cap = $Mil350,479
Sales = $Mil156,534

You'll also find a wealth of info on Yahoo's Industry Index http://biz.yahoo.com/ic/ind_index.html

and a pretty good industry stock screener is available on Business Week Online. You can select any industry and pull up to 150 matches for any industry selected at a time http://prosearch.businessweek.com/businessweek/general_free_search.html?

These are great, but what if I had a list of stocks like:
VLO
MO
MCK
SHLD
etc...
And i wanted it to give me the sector these were in? I tried a customized view in yahoo and there was no view field for sector.
