I have few hundred shares of JDS Uniph. at a cost of $3.51. Should I hold sell or buy more at these prices. This stock was recommended few months ago by Cramer but,.....

I have been looking to get in since it was at the lows. Earnings did not seen to affect the price much. To me that shows strength. What are your thoughts? They have a ton of cash that they are sitting on.

Most of Cramer's picks off of telecom plays didn't pan out when the industry decided to mrege with other companies instead of improve their networking cable runs with things like fiber optic, JDSU's strength.

Conexant is another play off of the ever expanding internet, and they just got wacked with a downgrade. When money starts coming back into this sector (the form of infastructure building and improvement), then these stocks may start to pick back up. In a econimic slow down that we are in, there might not be investments into this at any time soon.

JDSU has another strike, their ability to screw stock holders through offering convertable bonds, this initially sank the stock several months ago. They are also having problems meeting their quarterly targets, and coming under analist expectations will just drive the stock down lower:

I like their products, just hate their share holder treatment and bailed on them a long time ago. CNXT is interesting if everyone is just bailing on an analisysts recomendation, the stock is getting cheap with much more upside. If you want to stay in this sector, Finisar FNSR, a JDSU competitor reports Sep 5th, they don't have a Just Don't Sell Us rep and might be a better play.

You have caught a Fallen Knife

I've been there

Ouch!

But after "cpst" screwed me and I caught my Falling Knife, I dumped out of "jdsu" and "cnxt" just in time

It is a painful lesson at Hard Knock U Investing School's class on "Mad Money"
