today our politicians were more afraid of us, the voting public, then those who would command wall street and various special interests. set aside the ramifications, or the blatant extortion attempted with the dow down 777 pts, and it was classic underdog americana. although i fear this new found respect for those who elected them is short lived, i am proud to see our representatives respecting the will of the people. perhaps we the people are finally realizing we have lived too far beyond our means for too long a time to avoid the coming pain. and we still have a smattering of the core american ethic- an individual should be judged only by the sum of his deeds.
i find it quite gratifing that many who have charged me as socialist for championing ideas like social security are the loudest proponents of this currently offered transfer of wealth. and for the record, this current proposal is not socialism, but fascism. the greatest anectodal evidence being the lack of gulag or "cultual revolution," to accompany this glorified shake down. any self respecting soviet would demand blood, imo. but a simple google search is sure to clarify our understanding.
many wise folks, past and present, have warned this board exactly of our current predicament. perhaps of little condolence at this time, some have prepared. some are even thriving. i enjoyed the rebroadcast of "money as debt," shared by another poster, and would again recommend mr russo's film. mr whitney's article of 2 years ago seems prescient-
