I have set up another trading simulator for August - 1st prize is $100, 2nd and 3rd prizes are trading books.

If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can just continue trading, your portfolio has been set to $100,000.

If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime up to August 23. You must use the same username as you use here. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.

You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. We are not trading options anymore, as they made the results swing wildly both ways. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on July 31, 2006 wins.

The trading simulator/contest is open only to registered members of this forum.

Send me a private message (http://www.cramersmadmoney.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1) and I will send you the link for your free sign up.

CYBX might be a good play for today.. it gapped down and its down 23% or whatever right now

if you can nail a short term bottom on that, you can probably scalp 5% or so from it at some point, just on a bounce

CYBX here appears to have bottomed at $16... I bet you can sell it $17 at some point today

The simulator won't let me trade stocks! It is saying the game is expired.

Sorry guys, I have been trying to take care of things while on vacation. Just got back home. And now I remember that I fell asleep last night while updating the contest for August. It is fixed now and the contest is officially on for August. (Starting August 2! - and that is for everyone)

Ok.. I'm up to $105,000 now

I haven't made any new trades... current positions are:

1500 KWK
3000 NGAS
1000 CHK

those are all gas plays.. Natural gas is THE best sector right now, in my opinion

and

4000 SLV -- silver miner... I like the precious metals here

I'm eyeing up alternative energy plays here... Fuel cells and the like

those have been beaten down pretty good....

remember.. you buy them when know one is talking about them, and sell them when they appear on "Fast Money"

Thierry Martin

I just looked and saw the numbers were slightly different - must be recalculating - I just went from 9th to 10th place myself. You seem to be in first though, reef.

I was never given a book

Thierry Martin

OK, I'll send you 2 books - or one if you don't place 2nd or 3rd tomorrow!

I have Conquer the Crash, Elliott Wave Principal, and Prechter's Perspective - conversations with Bob Prechter, Legendary Market Theorist. You choose.

TheBullPicker
09-01-2006, 12:28 AM
hmm. so many choices. i will go with Elliott Wave Principal and Legendary Market Theorist.

P.S. isn't today the 31st, so the monthly challenge is over regardless of what happens tommorow?

P.S.S. Happy Birthday

TheBullPicker

So how do you pay the winner? Do you send a check or put it in a pay pal account?
