As you have probably heard, Mr. Warren Buffet has made the largest donation to a charity by giving $37 BILLION to the Gates foundation.

One thing that I respect is that he believes that money should not be inherited. That is one reason why he is donating all his money after his death. What you guys think about that? No spoiled bratts in that family.

Read his book, "The Making of an American Capitalist". Its a great book and gives an insight to Mr Buffett's values.

Even though he is donating the lion's share of his estate to charity, his family is well taken care of. They'll be getting their millions.

I guess there is only so much money one can have, must be a nice "problem" to have to deal with.

Anyhow, while I think it is a great move I asked myself, why give it to just one charity and a charity that doesn't seem to have a problem getting funded. Wouldn't it be better to maybe pick a hundred or two hundred charities and spred it out?

Not that I am bitching mind you, I guess I just see it from the other side of the fence, running a lil ol 501c3 begging to scrap enough money to vet the dogs we take in our care!

At any rate, I am sure his money will be put to good use, I admire him for the move.

I think it's great where he put his money. It will take billions to fund large phase 3 trials, and I hope they can come up with a couple vaccines. Just one vaccine for aids, malaria, or any other very serious disease will help billions of lives. I don't think the money will be wasted. I think what the Gates' foundation is doing is wonderful, and it makes me proud that capitalists can use their money for good things. I wish I could say the same for our Govt., but that's another thread...LOL.

I totally admire Buffet and the Gates for their philanthropy!
