Is it legal for me to open up an online stock trading account if i'm currently in bankruptcy. I don't plan on putting real money in there till i'm out of it, i just want it so i can use it with play money. I'm in canada too but tell me US laws if that's all you know

I think you'll get a better learning experience on a simulator than from a brokerage account with no funds. I would start on one of the many available, then move to a brokerage acct when you are close to getting in for real.
