Hey gang...long time no chat, hope everyone is doing well.
Need some input if you all don't mind. I finally was able to get around to getting my IRA started a few weeks ago. Opened it up and have $600 in there now. Not much I know, but I am working extra these days and should be able to deposit $75 a week or so into this IRA.
I have been looking for a few good dividend paying stocks as an initial investment. But sorta stuck as to where to go. And the $600 really won't get me very diversified. I know the rule of thumb is no individual stocks until about 10,000...but that will take at minimum two years. And I am not that big on the idea of a mutual or index fund.
I thought about DUK, WWE, SPH, and HCN. Any opinions on these or others like them, or should I just man up to the fact that it will take a few years before I get into individual stocks?
I thought I would toss this out there, because there are a few people on here that can go against conventional practices and make an alternative investment plan work!
Thanks!
