I have been obsessing on this stock trading thing for a few months now and have been reading until my eyes bleed. I still don't see how to pick stocks based on the RSI and other values that ya'll look at. I know the rule when the RSI goes to 30 the stock is oversold and a good time to buy (I think), but on certain stocks I have seen the RSI stay way below 30 and the stock value keep going down. There are just so many questions I have and would love to pick some of the intelligent brains in here.

There is a lot to explain. I recommend reading an introcution to technical analysis trading book. That will explain the basics. Also it is a lot of trial and error for a bit. You will lose money in the beginning, or at least I did for a while. It will also begin to make sense, and you will begin to find stock picks that are good. You just need to find your own style that works. Many people on this forum are good traders and know what they are doing, however don't hold anyones picks or advice as law. Just because the chart says a stock should move in a particular direction, doesn't make it so. It's just a great tool one uses to make an education forecast of its direction. Hope this helps.
