Lotsa bargains right now, but I think we might see more tomorrow. Small metals lookin good, the fiber optics pretty cheap, but............

You know they're was this one guy who used to post all the time ... talked kinda funny, had a strange name too, Booyawho was his name I think, he talked about this sell off all the time, what ever happened to him?

I'd still be careful here, cash is king... Good luck to all!

Re: Boobyah talked a great game but think he was playing with half a deck and no money in the market. Boobyah is now giving his sage advice to others who , I am certain, value it as much as we did.
Don't know about you but I am busted...........broke, nothing to buy with but margin and I ain't gonna do that.......no way, no how.
If the market doesn't correct in an upward direction in the half fast near future I may declare brain ruptcy !

We are smack dab in the middle of one of the greatest Bull Markets in history.
No reason not to buy on this small summer pullback.
Nov06-May07 is going to be awesome.

I certainly hope so. I think we're in for more weakness in the next couple of months as stocks shift from old market leaders and into new leaders going into the end of the year. I'm putting my money in Biotech...its getting easier to find bargains. Not easy to find good short term plays though as most of the stocks in the sector have been seeing strong declines.

I think energy will still be strong...no matter where the market goes. I'm also putting money into international investments. I would like to see international stocks consolidate a little.

Been buying SU under $80. I was away from my desk most of last week and gave up a big portion of my unrealized gains in Suncor so I'm using this as an opportunity to load up more as this company has a very bright couple quarters ahead of it as well as a nice long term story. Make sure you're in before next quarters earnings. If you don't believe me look at this past yoy growth to see what I'm talking about. It doesn't get much better than SU and the only thing it has going against it is the higher dollar amount the stock commands (though that doesn't bother me). If it were to split this thing would be parabolic as the buyers would swarm in.

Here, read this exerpt from SU's most recent earnings statements:

Suncor Energy Inc. recorded first quarter 2006 net earnings of $713 million ($1.56 per common share), compared to $67 million ($0.15 per common share) in the first quarter of 2005. Excluding the impact of insurance proceeds and the effects of unrealized foreign exchange gains on the company’s U.S. dollar denominated long-term debt, 2006 first quarter net earnings were $509 million ($1.11 per common share), compared to $40 million ($0.09 per common share) in the first quarter of 2005. Cash flow from operations was $1.314 billion in the first quarter of 2006, compared to $294 million in the first quarter of 2005...

(truncated)

Suncor’s total upstream production averaged 300,300 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day during the first quarter, compared to 175,600 boe per day in the first quarter of 2005. Oil sands production during the quarter averaged 264,400 barrels per day (bpd), of synthetic crude oil. This compares to the first quarter of 2005, when production averaged 139,900 bpd, including 18,700 bpd of non-upgraded bitumen production. Natural gas production in the first quarter of 2006 was 196 million cubic feet (mmcf) per day, compared to first quarter 2005 production of 191 mmcf per day.

During the first quarter, oil sands cash operating costs averaged $19.05 per barrel, compared to $26.05 per barrel during the first quarter of 2005. The decrease in cash operating costs per barrel is primarily due to operating expenses being spread over significantly more barrels of production. (For information on adjustments to cash operating cost calculations, see Outlook for 2006).

In sum, you have growth in output of units, lower input cost per unit, and higher value of each unit on the sell side. If that doesn't spell BUY I don't know what does. This co. also has a slew of construction projects in progress that are on schedule and on budget (very rare to find that) which will boost production even more in the future. Ergo, this is not a situation where you buy the rumor sell the news. SU is still very much alive as a growth stock.

No trades today, all cash except the long-termers (CVX, ADM, BUD, KO, PG, JPM, JNJ etx.).

Screen candidate all failed and are building, or SCREAMING buy tomorrow. We'll see. Watch list is over 30 on high volume, good companies, which are pounding the bottom. Opportunities will exist for the very short term bouncers, but I will be watching by the minute once purchased for any sign of sell-off. Money to made, but likely not held....IMHO of course!!

June 6th, hmmmmmm.............................
