If you could only pick one sector for next week, which would you pick?

Materials sector, more specifically the steel industry.
Those that move to the downside as they did late this week, often lead the pack as recovery starts and move to new highs.

I look for my ATI - Allegheny Technologies Inc to recover nicely by midweek.

I'd only buy stocks that have good earnings, and I'd wait to see a bottom; i.e., I'd be looking for bullish candle reversal signals (hammer, sothern doji, bullish piercing, bullish belt-hold, bullish harami, or bullish engulfing) on daily charts.

Gold is still above 700! Oil is still above 70! The real value of GG, NXG, GW, SU and NBR is still there. I'd expect even better earnings in the second quarter from these stocks.

Aapl formed a nice southern doji right on the MA30 today.

I personally hate Peix, and I want to see it where it belongs at $2. The government is "inane and insane"--as Cramer said--to be subsidizing ethanol. I don't think any funding companies bought into this one, so it didn't have much buying presure. If people get scared though, this one could fall 10% in a day easy.

TT says the early bear market is good for Consumer Non-Cyclicals (cosmetics, food) and health care (drugs, biotechs, and medical equipment).

Speculation:

I still think there will be another wave in mining & oil stocks before the bear market ensues.

The reasons are:

-increased demand in industrializing BRIC nations

-the possibility of a hurricane hitting the gulf (high probability)--could damage refinery capacity

-the summer driving season (increased demand)

-the Iran issues

-the Nigerian issues

I'm 100% cash and happy to be sitting on it right now.

I just think you will see some sectors start to warm up here a tad as the over run sectors are completing their tops.

I ran that DANA CORP. in the stock challenge not from a "guess" but because i have already seen the sector drawing attention and flow of money going in. I also played delphi at another board and won foist place again.

I personally am 50% invested in stocks that are in sectors that have made three year lows and the rest is in cash. I may be a little too soon but then again look what is happening in the markets.(major tankola) You got to be ahead of the crowd.
I think this tankola should have happened in january!
