This market is really making me nervous right now. If you look at the historic chart of the DOW, we are coming upon pretty frightening highs.
I don't mean to be too much of a contrarian, but if we don't break through to new highs, don't techinical analysis rules say we will re-test a low? That's kind of scary to think about.

I'm right with ya Will... I'm all cash now, expecting to find some bargains maybe this afternoon or next monday or next week or maybe next month...
The Naz really did'nt take part in the run up so...
Very squirrelly...
Not that I mind a cheap stock market... One man's market meltdown is another man's bargain sale... We'll see...

I definitely think there are a lot of stocks that have had a nice run and I would probably be selling those now. The rising prices of commodities will definitely affect the economy as higher prices trickle down. Not to mention gas prices!

While the overall market may drop, there certainly are a lot of bargains out there!

Not the least bit nervous. Once the DOW breaks the highs, the sky is the limit. This thing is going to start taking off in November.

Yes, I'm nervous. My premaket account has moved about 100 this morning before open. Cash might be best.

Count me slightly on the nervous side of neutral. Cash, oil stocks and china about the only things I'm in at the moment.

All cash again. I'm up 100 since yesterday thanks to my AG shorts. I'm still nervous but with a smile. Closed GG and AG early this morning. My account swung 170 in a couple minutes.

DOW must go down to the MA(30), currently at around 11,300 to shake out the weak hands

can anyone please explain this to me: when the price of oil goes up so much and there are fears of shortages (and an oil pipeline explosion in Nigeria) why do stocks like HAL and GW goe down almost 3%

Whew... that was nerve wracking, caught a fallin knife with THLD, took me a few hrs, but made 10%...
Trading TMTA, looks ripe for a rebound, thought I saw a cup & handle on the 5 min. chart...my only position since THLD...
Market's still squirrelly... definitely not for the faint of heart...

Watch futures data......as a guage for Mon/Tues. Hope you are using stops though, that is wise.

Yup, several days like we just had can put the scare into anybody. Seeing gains lost really sucks. I should be buying some stocks today. I wish I would have bought shares in SCSS when it dipped below $36.00 this morning. I missed that trade. I'm looking to buy more shares of INFA, ENTG and I might buy some shares of HEES. GW looks interesting too. So much to buy now, but I'd rather be a little late than too early. I think I need to transfer some cash into my trading account.

The main thing to remember is "don't get excited".
Take a few deep breaths, and maybe a Xanax, have a nice weekend, and check back with me in a week.
This ain't Armageddon people, it's a buying opportunity

I'm out for a week. I've been making gains lately. I thought yesterday was going to be another good day, so I bought GG and NBR. Lucky for me I had also shorted AG. I sold out of NBR yesterday and GG early this morning.

IMO, Oil stocks are on sale right now. NBR, SU, & GW are making a killing right now. Take advantage of the BEAR FEAR. $$$$

In what I think may be an opportunity to recover a bit of today's losses I dumped 500 shares of GG, and just before market close put the proceeds into 2000 shares of GW at $7.99. I think you'll see a nice recovery in GW sooner than I could make it back waiting for GG

yeah, it killed me to stay in GW today, but I have to be disciplined and when I bought it, I told myself I would hold through the summer. I think there is major upside with GW.

I did however take profits in DIS and PBW. It really hurts sometimes to sell stocks you love. :(

Someone tell me there is nothing wrong with a 14% gain.

IMO, big sell off usually take 3 days. Monday 11:00 am is a critical time, if it fall another 100 pt and no sign of moving up, we should take the cash and wait. I agree there are many good stock outside but when the market S-H-I-T, only small % of stock can escape. Cash is the King!

I am holding 80% cash and using 20% to flip 2 penny stocks, UNCN and GSPG right now. They are gold mining company and start to rebounce from the bottom. Making $ from that since last week. :)
