Stock Picking Challenge

Winner gets a free hardcover copy of Conquer the Crash!

Pick a stock with an entry price between $2.00 - $5.00 that trades no less than 100k shares daily volume that you think will go up in the next five days.

Your entry price can be a limit or market at open order.

Your entry price must be within the trading range of that stock during the next 5 days for your pick to be activated.

Rules

1. stock priced between 2.00 - 5.00

2. volume of no less than 100k daily. If a stock fails to meet 100k at any point in the week it is disqualified for the duration of the week.

3. entry price must be achieved during daily market 9:30 - 4:00 times (no pre market or after hour prices allowed)

5. one ticker per forum member

6. a ticker can be used once per challenge - if you want to use the same ticker for next week you must be the first to call it after Friday's market close (4:00 est)

7. once an entry and ticker is selected and posted, there is no changing the entry or ticker.

8. entries for next challenge opens at Friday's market close (4:00 pm EST) and closes at 8:00 Monday (9:00 am EST)

Discovery Labs Falls Again on Delay

Discovery Labs Shares Fall to Near 3-Year Low on Further Delay of FDA Product Approval

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Discovery Laboratories Inc. sank to their lowest level in nearly three years on Tuesday after the biotech company said that Food and Drug Administration approval of their lead product will be delayed even longer than expected.

Discovery shares fell $2.31, or 49 percent, to $2.38 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq, at more than 12 times their average volume. Shares hit a new low of $2.36, their lowest point since May 6, 2003, when the stock traded as low as $2.40. The stock has fallen from its 52-week high of $9.15 set in July.

Investment firm Pacific Growth Equities downgraded the stock to "Sell" from "Buy" on news released late Monday. Discovery said it needed to make additional batches of its Surfaxin lung treatment to prove to the FDA that quality control issues have been cleared up. The company indicated that quality control issues were still outstanding with the FDA in early April.

Discovery will have to address issues of stability -- how long a drug can be stored before it degrades -- concerning Surfaxin, a drug that mimics the substance the lungs need to absorb oxygen. The Warrington, Pa.-based company wants Surfaxin approved for use in premature infants, who are often born without the natural substance in their lungs.

Pacific Growth analyst Y. Katherine Xu said in a note that she expects a possible shake up in management and a companywide restructuring to result from the setback.

In August, the FDA told the company it needed to correct manufacturing issues at Laureate Pharma Inc., which the company had contracted to make the treatment. In December, Discovery bought the manufacturing facility that made Surfaxin from Laureate for $16 million.

Investment firm Jefferies & Co. suspended their "Buy" rating and $7 price target of Discovery pending further information from the company.

Its picks like these that walk that ooh sooo very thin line, and coulda made 50% gains just as quick as they can drop.
In this case she dropped, if you haven't noticed, But thats IMO the price you pay to play the DT game, or DP either way someone is buried in $hi^.

Only if it takes out the low foist....looks like it may rally early. There may be a setup into the close near or jist balow 2.00. But it could actually fall to 1.50ish which would make it a much better long termer IMO.

Up 8.9 % for me today.

Failed to hold it's high of the day so might fall back a bit tomorrow. Actually though the incators show the DMI really opening out and a continuation of this breakout next week. Would love to see $5 from this baby in a couple of weeks. I'll be happy with holding $4 for this week though. Perdikshon: minor pullback tomorrow, back up to $4 on friday.
