I noticed a few sites display "After Hours" and has a growth or loss like you see in this example:

http://finance.google.com/finance?q=NASDAQ:SYMX

After Hours: 9.63 +0.03 (0.31%) - Jun 25, 4:00PM ET

I assume that it keeps track of all pending buys/sells when the stock market is closed. My question is if it shows it will have an increase after hours, if I were to place an order now so that it will be filled when the stock market first opens, does that mean I will be one of the first in line and will be able to take advantage of the increase in stock price? Or will the price increase/decrease so fast that it really doesn't matter what the after hour price is? Because some stocks look like they will have a large increase and I would like to buy them before the stock market reopens the next day. Thanks :)
